I have not seen any discussion about EVGA motherboards, question to EVGA motherboard owners, are they any good?

Yes, in general. If your in any other country than the US the RMA customer service is def not as good, but the hardware itself is built to overclock and they will last a long time if taken care of. I still own a 780i FTW that still works great and the P67FTW i used for 10 years and JUST replaced with the x299 Dark in the last 6 months that still works just as good as when i got it. Actually, i still have 33 days of warranty left on my P67, lol.

Really? My experience with EU support has always been good. Although, would not know if it is now.

EVGA is notorious for disregarding EU customers.

Kind of how they also disregard AMD for motherboards.

Any particular reason evga not doing any AMD boards? I would think with the uptick in market share from amd they would want something out there to be competitive? Just a thought any one have any insight into why no amd? Maybe Intel agreement? Or some such

I think agreements have been mentioned before, but there are also factors mentioned about how they only have so many people and not enough to put sufficient resources into designing quality products for both brands. Their long-term customer-base is used to overclocking Intel CPUs and they'd lose some following if they just cut those off probably. Their motherboards are generally targeted to overclocking users and Intel is significantly more known for making chips that can OC well.

Another thing I think most people don't consider is that Intel's current lag is not permanent. AMD is slapping them around a bit right now, but it hasn't been that way for many years and Intel has a route back to the front ahead of them (probably Meteor Lake on the 7nm EUV node as it has the highest chance for being a major leap forward for them). So with motherboards being probably the smallest part of EVGA's business, it may not make financial sense (or be feasible with existing staff) to switch all the way over and do AMD boards for 2-3 years, especially when AM4 was already at EOL and they would have had to really learn two new platforms, then switch back to Intel after that when they already have a team of experienced designers, contracts, etc. for Intel. Also, if EVGA is all about overclocking and the AMD chips aren't really suitable for OC for most users, how are they supposed to jump in and take market-share when that's their main focus?

Of course, this is just conjecture on my part, but I am an engineer and work in product development...albeit in a completely different sector...so they are at best somewhat-educated guesses lol

I have had EVGA motherboards for years and never had any issues (knock on wood) so far. I'd recommend their motherboards without reservation

I don’t have one myself, but a couple of my friends have EVGA Z490 and Z590 boards and they absolutely love them, was hoping to get one for myself for a new build but couldn’t get my hands on one unfortunately. If you can get one, EVGA motherboards are really good quality and overall solid motherboards

I'm only aware of the new Z590 motherboards that seem expensive for the features. I don't know of any mid-grade, modest EVGA boards.

EVGA has made solid products forever.  Years ago I working in IT and was building a computer, and I asked one of my coworkers what they thought about a discount power supply I was looking at.  They clowned me for what seemed like an hour because I didn't know that EVGA was the best thing on the market and how stupid I was for not wanting to spend an extra $5 to protect a $1500 system.

Yes the EVGA motherboards are very good, but the latest line of motherboards VRM and circuit board are now "only" 17 phase and eight-layer, however the amount of Pci-e busses & its arrangement are identical to their elder brothers.

They're solid, but my go to has always been ASRock. I don't need the extra features that EVGA boards usually have.

They used to be bar none top of the line.

Seems like that kind of fell apart a few generations ago but were otherwise good. From my perspective though seeing the shortcuts they took on the recent FTW3 series cards come to light, I don't know that I would want to risk an EVGA mobo until several months after they release.

Please read my post on this thread. They're actually better priced than half the competing boards and with better specifications, looks (in my opinion), and support behind them.
