This happens to me when I'm out of balance. I've found the best way to create balance is doing important things that I really enjoy. Once I've found some of these and put them in my schedule the balance returns.

I hear you once you hit your 30s get married have kids it's hard finding time to ready up on everything remain active in the forums while.making sure your family is taken care of. It is not unique to you.

We all experience this, its just the ebb and flow of your life. Depending on how full your life gets with other things, they will really dictate how much attention you put to your hobbies. If you are some of the fortunate few who have made it there work then thats different. If you talk to those guys they will tell you that its not really worth all you have to put into it just to play with the latest tech year after year. Its a grass is always greener type of thing.

Priority shift is pretty normal as you go through different life stages. The best part is that there are usually new enjoyable things that help fill that time. As long as you're learning/growing and enjoying yourself in some aspect of life, no need to sweat moving away from an old hobby

i'm thoroughly jaded. nothing in the home computer space is exciting to me. it's all just the same with higher clock speeds and window dressing. today's games look stunning but they don't seem any more fun than games from the 80s-90s.
