Yep, I didn't really try that hard to begin with but my Titan xP still plays everything fine.  So I'm waiting for Big Navi and Black Friday and see how stock looks then, and who is actually on top.

I sort of gave up camping out online.  I bought a new EVGA 2080 Super FTW3 and put in for the step up this week.  Many people that signed up for step up at launch are saying they have yet to get past step 1.  Very discouraging.  Likely, from what I have heard, a minimum 6 month wait so March or April.  Now I am debating on leaving it sealed in the box or putting in in my PC.. boxing my 4 month old ASUS 2070 Super Advanced OC and using it.  I guess I am sort of holding out hope of getting a 3080 within my return period for the 2080 and just returning it and getting out of step up.   I have 24 days before I am committed completely to setup.
 
SO ... I am slowly heading toward a point where I have to commit to:  1. Step up program, stop looking for a 3080 card, and use the 2080 for maybe a quarter to a half of a year until I get the 3080.   2.  Return the 2080 sealed, unused.  Get my refund.  Buy a new AMD card when they come out, if they are better or similar to a 3080 and available.
 
I have around 20 days to make the decision.  So 10/20...  I decide.  An email by then getting to step 2 would make the decision for me.  And the 3rd option.. get lucky on a Tuf, EVGA FTW3, or Strix before then online and just return the 2080 sealed.
 
What I think is going to happen:  I will end up doing option 1.. and sometime in April or May get the 3080 FTW3.  Most likely I will be annoyed.

Cancelled my preorder for the FTW 3 as it is showing Jan '21 and no doubt will slip even more.. I am happy to keep using my 1080 for now.. until stock is readly available.. and then maybe the 20Gb model will be out.

I gave up too. Not on getting a card though, but on buying one to those scamming (r)etailers. 150€ more expensive on all (r)etailers in France, EVGA EU Store gives the FTW3 Ultra at 850€ while every french site makes you pay 1000€. Whatever BS excuse they'll say, they broke trust. Not even mentionning that with an associate code you can get a 5% rebate so.... There's that too !

I'm waiting to see Amazon.fr prices, and if they are as bad as the others, I'll get one from EVGA EU Store. Which I'm happy to say is pretty much the only one who truly deserves my money for the card. 

New cards are always hard to find as are new motherboards.  Vid cards however are especially prone to selling out quickly. I generally just let the supply catch up (about 6 months later) then order. I get the card I want and hopefully one with all the bugs worked out.

I've pretty much given up. I'll check stock periodically but I know it's a fruitless endeavor. Maybe we will see it improve when the AMD cards come to market but I'm not counting on anything at this point. 

Honestly I was considering eBay for stupid prices for a 3090 but as I had already sold my 2080ti I found the last new EVGA 2080 super I could find and will 'step up' when stock arrives at EVGA. Seems like the best option for me. 

I have stopped looking at sites all day and started to play games and watch YouTube but I'm looking till I own one.

I still keep distill.io running, and I check Jacob's twitter every so often, but I've given up anything more.

And don't buy on Ebay. Let the scalpers die in a fire with Graphics Cards that no one will buy.

Looking like ill have to wait till at least dec/jan time frame to pick up a new 3080 :(

Not giving up.  I just have multiple alerts setup from multiple sites.  Got close a few times, but I'm not about to sit around all day waiting on non-existent cards.  If people stop buying from scalpers, they will stop trying to buy them all.

This is why it’s worth trying. The eBay resellers want a profit and having to fight each other for a few dollars profit won’t be worth it.

I just had my server run distill.io refreshing all the Amazon 3090 pages every 10 seconds and ping me when something changes. Got one yesterday when it came in stock for a whopping 90 seconds.

On the US site? I haven't seen it even listed.
