Nice price for 35% gain on the current 1080. Kind of blows that I paid 699.00 for the 1080 F|E and now the Ti is the same price, it's the price we pay to have the fastest gpu in the first few weeks of launch. I won't be bothering with the Ti, I'm still gaming @1080 so no real reason to bother. As it is I'm getting 90-150fps in most games in full Ultra.

Are there any plans on a single slot I/O shield for the 1080ti ?
Because with the current display ports its a perfect fit for water cooled single slot sollutions without me having to mod the I/O shield.

Honestly this is the only reason my workstations only have watercooled 4x780ti and 4x980ti but I plan to setup another Octane render node with a bit more punch ;)

I thought about making the jump to GTX 1080 on the discounted price. I game at 1080p as well. But, there's actually certain settings within games like Resident Evil 7 that I prefer to use, but which makes the game screen seem to shake, its sickening. Only when I use the scaling does the shaking go away. At the cost of performance hit though. I'm currently using a GTX 980 SC. Anyway, DSR is REALLY nice to use, and I look forward to when I'm able to upgrade to 4k and HDR screen. It's the only reason I'm holding out for the TI. I hope I'm fast enough......pre-order option would definitely be nice.

This question may have been asked, but currently I have two 1080 FTW that are currently being shipped out for the ICX upgrade offer, from there im looking to step up to the 1080ti's. Now its been a great long while since I've done the step up, but typically they only step you up to the reference editions or basic 1080ti's right? So the ICX cooled or ftw/classifieds are most likely out of the question for step up, sound right to some of you more experienced in these circumstances?

only reference PCB cards will be there. so most likely no icx.an acx version should be there and ,should offer some better cooling. But depending how good this new reference cooler design is two reference cards may be cooler in SLI than after market fan models would

EVGA. Please Please Please, Release the 1080ti FTW HYBRID as soon as possible.

I had many cards in the past from Reference, Classified, to Hydro Copper. And the 1080 FTW HYBRID was my best overall experience.

Minimal installation
Fantastic temperatures
Low noise
Excellent overclock ability

I hope I don't have to wait too long 😕

Asus X570 Dark Hero, Ryzen 5900x, 32GB Crucial Ballistix 3600mhz, RTX 3090 FE, 500GB Samsung 980 Pro, BX500 Crucial 2TB, Be-quit 500DX, Corsair AX1000, Razer Basilisk U, Asus Scope TKL Deluxe, ASUS PG279QM G-SYNC.

why so is your step up soon? As you know the 1080ti will not have the ftw hybrid as a step up option

OK.  Then is there even the remotest danger that the hybrid kit I just bought for my 1080 FTW (p/n 400-HY-5288-B1) will fit on the 1080 Ti?  PCB gonna be too different?  I asked EVGA and they just gave me the party line "We have no information...".

remotest danger?? Pretty sure you mean remote chance? If so it's hard to say tell launch since any who do know are under NDA if the ftw hybrid kit fits or not only time will tell. On the bright side at least it's only 2 days away

if the acx cards launch at release or close the acx SC won't be far if any behind. Fingers crossed as I'd like to step up to the 1080ti acx. Unless the gains on reference cooler are the real deal. but with how hot a titan XP was getting under heavy load it would take a miricale for this new design to not thermal limit the overclock

Discounting games for a moment...
If I want to focus on Lightroom and Photoshop, will a 1080 Ti help me, or would I be better off with another GPU?

Thanks...

you would probably be served find with a 1080 but if you have the extra you could go for the Ti. But from non gaming bang for buck I'd grab a 1080 or even the 1070 if wanting to save a few bucks

I have a buddy that's into that kind of stuff, he always recommended titans for that, he said certain cards better for gaming and some for studio type application, some of the titans were geared more for those type of applications. Might even save money that way picking one of those up.

the GTX 1080ti is neck and neck with the Titan XP even in synthetics . And it would clearly beat last year's titan . If he wants top performance without spending 1300$ I would go for the 1080ti as the 9 lost rops and 1gb of VRAM will not cause a problem

Thanks for your thoughts, everyone! Really appreciate it.

Guess I'll go for the Ti. I'm presently still using a rather old card (AMD Radeon HD 6850) and I'm really ready to build a new system. I hope I don't have to wait till May!
