I am assuming 1080 GTX Classified card owners will be allowed to step up to the 1080ti? Is this correct?

Anyone know, historically, how long the Ti's have took to show up on the step up page after the official launch? We talking minutes, hours, days, weeks? Or has it differed from launch to launch? I'm not about to sit in front on my computer from 11pm EST and spam F5 and then on my phone after 3 when I go to work if I don't think they will show up that fast. I know it could be different than previous releases but I'd like to know the rough history of the last 2 or 3 GPU releases. Thanks.

From what I've been told you will be able to "step up" but only to a FE or reference card only. Can't step up from a classified to a Ti classy for example or even to a FTW Ti. Reference only. I'm in the same boat. Have a FTW Gaming 1080 and I'll only be able to go up to an FE or SC. Which makes no difference to me since I'm water cooling anyway. I'll happily take an FE.

no reason you shouldn't be able to. if you paid More than what ever the ti shows up for you will just losse the difference. Hoping they add acx on the same day as I am not a fan of blower coolers

nothing that I have heard.the step up has always been for just stock pcb cards. Execpt when they messed up on the 970ftw they let people step up to a fixed version

I am in your boat I have to work and hope they show up reasonably fast. Can't find anything that says the time they were added vs the release of the card. I know the 1080 showed up the same day

Well, at least that gives me hope that it will show up on the step up fairly quick after 11 EST tomorrow. Maybe within minutes but I'm guessing at least a few hours or more. Looks like I will finally be one of those spamming F5 guys tomorrow. Never have done that for any piece of hardware but I don't want to have to wait over a month or more to get one. I've never been in a position to step up, it's actually kind of exciting. I just hope I got the time right. I'm thinking I got it wrong though. I was thinking 8AM PST but was it 10AM PST?

Amidst all the hysteria, I just want to thank the EVGA team for the work involved in the trade-in program. It really gave me a reason to purchase a 1080 a little before the 1080 Ti announcement with some assurance to move to the 1080 Ti. Really looking forward to this step up!

Thanks. I don't have to get up too early then. Work 3rd shift and usually up my 9am EST so hopefully I can spam F5 till it shows up on the step up list. Just hope at least the FE is up before I go to work at 2:30. Will make it slower trying to do it on my phone even though I have all my info in and ready to go on both my phone and PC, I'd rather do it on the PC for faster typing.

123Testing123 Thanks for your thoughts, everyone! Really appreciate it. Guess I'll go for the Ti. I'm presently still using a rather old card (AMD Radeon HD 6850) and I'm really ready to build a new system. I hope I don't have to wait till May!
what CPU do you have? It may be worth going with a cheap GPU and and upgrading you cpu
I have an i7-6950x awaiting the rest of the build.

holy! never mind CPU upgrade. Was baseing off of since you said you had such an old GPU and we're ready to do a new build. I'd say 100℅ go for the 1080ti since your budget seems to be able to handle it

I am not sure.. have the card ready just in case. Honestly, I have never upgraded early enough to utilize step up in the past. I usually end up eating the cost of the cards.
