flyinion

I'm sure I will, I'm tempted to do a step up in the next few months to a 570 though lol.  /sigh we'll see.  Anyone know if EVGA bucks can be used on a step-up?

Nope!

Question / Issue  Can EVGA bucks be used towards a stepup?

Answer / Solution   EVGA bucks can only be used towards new purchases from the EVGA.com website.  EVGA bucks can not be used toward the step-up program or other EVGA promotional programs.

I doubt you're being ignored, but do you really think that is a BR worthy post? You answered a simple question, nothing technical, nothing difficult.

Hell, if I wanted a BR for every simple question I answered, I'd have thousands of them. Outside of a milestone or other momentus occasions, BR's should be earned for answering technical questions, or by spending some time with a member to help solve their issue or overclock...ect. I see them being given out here willy nilly and it's somewhat surprising to me to see what posts have been awarded a BR lately. I have to walk on hot coals to get my BR's by comparison to what I've seen them awarded here.......

Nothing really there bud. Let me show you what I have to post to earn BR's lately to give you an idea......

AB, when running Surround all 3 monitors are treated as one single large display. Even if you have 3 monitors and 3 cards, it doesn't work out that each card is rendering only what's on that monitor the card is plugged into. The drivers treat the Surround group as a single screen. It in essence works the same way Tri SLI works on a single screen. Each card renders one complete image in sequence just like in single screen. The only difference is that in Surround the card rendering the image splits up it's displayed image to the other cards to synchronize the display.

For instance in Tri SLI lets take card one for instance. it renders it's frame for the complete image for all 3 screens. Now lets say card 1 is hooked up to the center monitor. What it does is it sends the rest of the image it rendered for the surrounding monitors to the other cards to be displayed at the same time it displays its image. Then the cycle continues with card 2. It renders it's complete image and for examples sake we'll say card 2 is hooked to the left monitor. So it then sends the image for the center and right monitor to display in sync with the image it's displaying. And so on an so forth.

This is why it's so critical for monitors to share the same native refresh rate and sync polarity for Surround to work. The cards are not just merely rendering the images for the monitor they are hooked up to. Behind the scenes there is a precision timed and wholly dependent on synchronization and communication between the cards and monitors to acheive the Surround effect.

Quite a bit more involved wouldn't you say?

I'll go ahead and give you one for the second link because you actually answered his question instead of quoting something that was already posted on the forums.  The others were questions that they could have answered themselves by reading the policies regarding their particular questions.

The next one is gonna be more difficult!

Really?

So can I post and ask for a BR every time I answer a question regardless of technical level? I have to run a marathon while breathing through a straw and hopping on one foot to earn BR's compared to what I've seen here.......

This was an exercise in positive re-enforcement.  By awarding that BR and then expressing that the next one would be harder, I am endeavoring to push people to better and better things by giving them a reward for trying to help.  Am I only supposed to award BR's to people who have Masters Degree's in computer science?  Or do I award peoples efforts and encourage them to keep learning and thus improve the level of help they offer?  If people are never rewarded for their efforts, they stop trying.

Yes, I understand what this is and what it's for, but the point I was making is that some of us members have to walk over hot coals to get a BR while others just stroll up and take one comparatively speaking.
