Good for those on a budget, but with only 300 nits it is nothing special.

I kind of am waiting for the high end to become more reasonable and better before jumping in. I was looking forward to them coming out with good quality gamignmonitorss but the blurry text has me waiting for the first true ones.

did you see the cost of g-sync FPGA from Altera costs??? $500 a chip for every G-sync monitor - you wonder why those monitors are pricy

maybe Nvidia should make it's own FPGA for it own tech??

If it’s that much then I would agree that NVIDIA needs to think about how AMD is doing things with Freesync since Freesync monitors have always cost less. It didn’t matter when AMD was far behind but now they are getting close.

the original story on the FPGA chip pegged them at $2k a piece - put purchased in bulk from INTEL(since they Bought altera) they got the price down to $500 each

    https://www.kitguru.net/peripherals/monitors/ryan-burgess/nvidias-new-g-sync-hdr-module-could-cost-manufacturers-upwards-of-500/

This FPGA is being sold on various websites for thousands of dollars, but it is unlikely that monitor makers like ASUS and Acer are paying such a high price. The teardown piece speculates that the G-Sync HDR module is costing monitor makers somewhere in the neighbourhood of $500.

the new panels come with an Intel Altera Arria 10 GX 480 FPGA module along with 3GB DDR4 memory up to 2400 MHz

in my opinion that business you don't need to send Intel's way since they will soon be eating at Nvidia's market

at $500 you could design you own or re-purpose old tech(GPU or APU) and make the money yourself
