I guess all good things do come to an end. It's been fun being a part of the folding group, even if I had not been very active on the forums. I ended up 83rd in the team and 1202 overall as a result of this promo. It helped me justify buying 3 video cards over the years that I would not have bought otherwise (a 680 SC in 2012, a 980 TI in 2016 and a 2070S in 2019). The EVGA bucks and knowing I was supporting Stanford was nice. Sadly it looks like I will have to join the dark side (crypto), it's the only way I can afford new video cards, they've doubled or tripled in price over the last few years. I had planned on getting one of the new 30 series cards, a Ti for the # of cores, and using the EVGA bucks to help & buy it direct from EVGA. Stopping this program is unfortunate, I only bought and use the 2080 Ti for crunching for science and none of the benefit of buying a faster card helps me in the least. The new cards are too expensive without some break from EVGA bucks so I'll just stay with my current card and not get anything new, there's no reason to do otherwise.

I assumed nothing would change other than the promotion giving out bucks was going away. Tell me everything you know.... lol

Just as an FYI, since Monday is going to be the last day you can request points, we're going to update the point totals each business day leading up to that. If your point totals still haven't properly updated, please email webmaster@evga.com as soon as possible. Points will be approved until midnight PST on the 15th.

@EVGATech_LeeM Ok Thank you for that clarification. That was the whole reason for my question. It doesn't say anything about removing the "My folding" tab nor about not updating our points in the original post. That's why I asked troy for clarification of said claims that were not included in your post.  @troy8d Sorry if I made my questions sound assumptive or doubtful, that was not my intention. It was all just news to me and I trust your direction.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Well that is sad. I wouldn't thing it would be such a hard task to code some sort of scraper to grab our points each evening and post them. There is a lot of motivation in seeing our points increasing whether or not we are being compensated with EVGA bucks. I personally looked at it as a point goal for personal achievement first and the bucks were just a bonus. Also it would be nice for our team efforts, when having events or competitions, to have access to everything all together on EVGA.com rather than jumping back and forth. (especially when at times..... time is of the essence in a comp) All in all it's all no big deal but it is also a nice perk in my opinion.

Thanks, I sent an email to them. The past 6 months updates seemed to be limited to maybe 2 times a month. I'd hate for them to deny points because they neglected to update the totals. Ill be in communication with them as i put everything i had into that final 30mil.

Can you elaborate on what this support entails? Is it going to be more than the current status: a section of the forums, documentation on the website regarding how to get started folding, and an approving nod when we buy the latest hardware from EVGA to use for Folding@Home? I ask because prior to Year 3 EVGA supported its folding community through means other than the EVGA bucks promotion.

Seems odd... a non profit cooperative is able to easily keep track of our folding stats and a corporate entity is not...Sorry EVGA but I did reach out to Jason Rabel (extreme overclocking) a long time ago and he was eager to help lend his support...I believe he has yet to hear back from you. https://folding.extremeov...st.php?s=&t=111065https://www.evga.com/folding/The forum just hasn't seemed the same since the Bucks program ended. I miss the program too but with the shortages of hardware, a hardware Co with little to no hardware to sell....
I just hope they can survive this and not go bankrupt.
This is the third time there has been shortages in the last several years, it has to be hitting their bottom line hard.
With the cost to keep an employee on the payroll, no product to sell, time is money.
It must of cost a small fortune to keep that program going. Bucks + manpower tracking, fixing errors and so on.

I don't think either one of us is wrong... We are both right and it is for the people in power to see that. Once they do they can act on it. Hardware shortages are a valid concern and I don't think it is limited to EVGA. Less manpower required to handle their reward systems is vital. Finding a way to easily monitor crunching stats so it can be included in future reward programs is another possibility. Corporately I think EVGA is an Enigma...they are Unique in how they do their business I applaud them... I just don't know why anyone, from EVGA, hasn't contacted Jason for his input.

1. Are these dollar amounts still valid?
2. How long will these be usable given that nearly all cards are now made of Unobtanium.

A stats pimp statement on the status of the team - Yeah, the loss of points/bux hurt, but we're actually trending back upwards. Bux wasn't EVERYTHING to this team. The loyalty is. And dagnabbit, we have a strong core of folders still going strong and we're rebuilding.
We're a LONG way from the powerhouse we once were, but Linus and his crew kind of put the screws to THAT with his Youtube flex. NO hate intended. His channel isn't my cup of tea, but the dude DOES do a lot of good work with his clout, including bending the will of thousands of people with folding worthy hardware to the cause.
We're limping along and we're hobbled, but we're not DEAD by a long shot. We're still putting out numbers that make other teams drool.
We're gonna live through this year and the next, and we're gonna not only survive, but I predict our thriving in the future, once again.
Fold on, lads and ladies!!
