I had been folding on the V7.6 client for a bit with a Mac Mini with M2 chip. I was seeing about 120k as a max in PPD while using 19.5W. I had been looking at the beta client V8.3 a bit and noticed that another user mentioned it provides Apple silicon native CPU core instead of using Rosetta. I am seeing a 48% increase(178k) in PPD with a minor increase in power usage. As luck would have it the project number is the same between my last v7 and first v8 client WU. Small potatoes compared to what GPUs are doing but gotta start knocking at the 1.2M+ CPU units out there too. Always nice to get an almost free near 50% bump in PPD.
