Since they're basically the same card, I think the Titan X KPE and 980 Ti KPE should be released together

The LN2 HOF looks pretty slick, I might have to try getting my hands on one of those.

Why not? They're basically the same card, so it wouldn't be any extra R&D. It would make economic sense.

Nvidia won't allow it's top of the line chip (GM200-400-A1) to be put on a custom pcb.

Sajin Looks like galax is going to be shipping their 980 Ti HOF & 980 Ti HOF LN2 Edition by 7-10-15.
Is this a good company to deal with if there's any problems with the card? Thanks

No idea. I've never owned one of their cards so I couldn't tell you how good their customer support is.

nycx360 hmmm kingpin never again lol. Maybe this one will fair better than the 980 kpe did. I may pick up a pair of 980tis but I think this time asus is getting my money on matrix. Might be tempted by the 980ti classy but kpe fck that.
Pretty much just a money pit of a card. Pay all this money and get basically nothing better besides a fancier looking card. I do like the RGB lighting but I wouldn't pay crazy amounts to get it.
Yup, Classy and Kingpin are EVGA money pits... Oh, wait... you only said Kingpin...
Well i wouldnt say that the classy is a money pit...i got the 980 classy and im getting 1600 core and 8200 pretty easy. I dont think this is the norm with the SC version...Nowadays too it's only about $60-70 over the cost of the 980 SC. On the other hand, the KPE is definitely, definitely a ripoff

Maybe they will launch the kingpin first and classy second? That would be good.
A completely new way, we are pretty excited about it :D

After looking through and doing a little deciphering of Vince's post #20 over at Kingpincooling.com, I will take a Wild guess that there will be two Versions of EVGA GTX 980Ti Classified Kingpins. Some will be based/sold on LOW ASIC (64-68%) for Air and Water Cooling, And Others will be based/sold on HIGH ASIC for DICE/LN2. I'm Only Just reading into what Vince stated in his post: "For great air overclocking and voltage scaling on air over 1600mhz, the asic usually need to be lower like 64-68%" http://kingpincooling.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3659&page=2 (NOTE: Originally I posted this in the 980 TI Classified Thread in Error, But I am re-posting here also. Once again my apologies to Sajin.)

This is interesting. 64-68% for air, higher asic for ln2, that's completely opposite from what the gpu-z asic chart says.

I read that a few weeks ago and been pondering the same. I have always been able to squeeze another 44 MHz out of my lower scoring Classy on air (which I thought was strange) Finally got the blocks installed yesterday and will see what difference if any they will make if I ever get this rig put back together. Decided to completely rewire/sleeve everything, install a different mobo and bit off a little more than I can chew right now. Will see how they do after I get them on water, FINALLY! I think a choice of ASCI is a great idea thou. I would like to get 2 or 3 in the same range, if nothing else. Have always bought cards in pairs since SLI has been a thing. If they do release a card without a cooler it could offset the total cost a bit of installing blocks, not sure thou if it would make it easier on the techs if you have to RMA one, or worse... I guess they have to take them off anyway to inspect them. GPU-Z 08.4 is available BTW, whoop whoop!

KPE = waste of money. Pretty card though usually, but not worth it as others have said in the thread. And again, ASIC quality has nothing to do with a card's OC potential. All of my best OCing cards the past two years have been the lower ASICs while my higher ASIC cards have been crap.

It's only a waste when people buy them for the wrong reason and don't want to use it as it was designed for. Problem is, most people don't want to use it for what it was designed for, so they immediately label them a waste of money. Use it as designed, and it will prove that it isn't as much as waste as one would think. I openly admit I haven't used mine how they were designed, and that is my own fault. I will never buy a reference board though, because I now own the tools to be able to use every Classified and KPE as designed.
