So its going by the boost table in the firmware considering thermals and voltages and stuff like that?

That is correct.

Sajin,

Do you know how to using the dip switches on the back of the 980 TI KPE to turn off vdroop so the cards voltage regulation will act just like when you use Classified voltage controller app to turn off vdroop? Not sure which way the switches go for that.. More or Less?

Thanks

Was able to get 1506/4000 stable at 1.2 v as far as I can tell. Tested it with various 3D benchmarks then customized my rom to 'Bake-in' 1506 as the default TDP Boost clock entry. Unfortunately for some reason while gaming it Boosted down to 1341!

I couldn't understand why it would Boost down or throttle as I raised my TDP values in MBT but it was using clock state #61 instead of #74 which I had set to 1506. So I had to shift down the values in the Boost table and shift up the voltage table to match.

Now it will auto Boost to 1506 and throttle down normally but I kind of cheated here it feels like.

If anyone knows why please comment. Attached my mod rom for anyone to take a peak at..

Thanks.

Thanks I saw that and played with the dip switches but saw no change while monitoring voltages. Wonder which way to set those switches is best?

Anyhow done modding my firmware with MBT. Set it at 5006.5/4000. Turned off boost. Had to roll the clock state tables up to match my desired frequency to highest boost state and then rework the voltage tables. Almost got 1551 stable as one time I noticed it auto boosted to 1551 but nothing I did could get it stable. Think these cards have an envelope of working frequencies.

learned a lot and modding the firmware was fun. Think the problem with Maxwell is that boost creates instability much like trying to overclock your cpu via adaptive methods. The other problem past 1506 it takes a ton of unsafe volts to keep stable.

At least with dual bios you can switch back n forth but one time the system loaded the wrong bios from other side of switch. So theres something going on there. Tried turning off fast boot and fast startup but still see same issues...

Thanks

Default positions would be best.

Sajin,

Do you see any thing wrong with flashing over the LN2 bios slot with the standard OC or other modded bios? I want to write it over because I want to have my choice of three firmware versions for testing..

Is this possible?

Thanks
