I haven't because I need the latest drivers as I have been exclusively playing MGSV this past few days. I also do not believe in going back to older driver versions generally. Pretty sure NVidia will roll out new drivers to sort out the OC stability issues caused by the recent versions. So far, I have been running stable with zero crashes/TDRs @1480Mhz/7800Mhz/+12mV on my Kingpins in MGSV for 20 hours and counting. It isn't a demanding game but I do run it with DSR 4k to put some work on the GPUs a bit. Will update when I move on to another game. I hope that when better drivers come out, I can hit 1506Mhz/8000Mhz/0mV. If not, I can accept the current OC as it is.

With the new drivers I am running my classifieds at stock since they play havoc on my cards with overclock. I am really surprised by this.

I tried today to test 100%/+80Mhz/+350Mhz/+12mV (basically adding +10Mhz to Core), but I started getting red artifacts on Firestrike benchmark. I guess I hit the limit? This is supposed to run me with 1493Mhz on core vs 1480Mhz.

I understand but they may not come out with a fix for awhile I would rather have something you know is going to work and Vince Kingpin said he has tested it. Getting 1550 to 1570 on air.

FWIW, I ran Heaven for 15 or so minutes. Temperatures peaked at 72C. Ofcourse I am using an aggressive fan profile. Not sure how to edit the VMEM voltage through Precision X, if that is even possible?

You need the most up to date classified voltage tool. Precision does not adjust memory voltage.

Oh thanks! I saw screenshots at overclock.net of it being overlayed over PX and I thought it was some hidden feature. Thanks for the clarification.

Just an update. 111 hours on MGSV TPP without issues with my latest OC. Finished the game and moved back to The Witcher 3. A little bit in and I get the grey/brown screen with TDR error. As stated previously, chances are this is just a driver issue and nothing more. I might mess around with a previous driver just to test this as I plan to play and finish The Witcher 3 now. Will keep you posted!

I doubt it's a driver error. For gaming I would just leave the card at stock clocks & voltage. If you need more power for gaming go SLI. The FPS increase you get from overclocking the GPU isn't worth the decrease in stability, all games will use the GPU differently, you will find yourself constantly having to adjust the clocks to maintain stability depending on what game you are playing. Not worth the hassle at all for the very minor FPS increase you will receive. Perfect example: http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=1990970

He has a 72% and 74% Asic card is what he stated in the first post. I think it still applies.

It is funny that people boast about super awesome overclocks yet hardly do I find proper evidence of actual game stability. I did a search on Witcher 3 and Batman AK running stable with overclocked 980 Ti SLI and None SLI and came out with little to nothing. Yet on the flip side, I get tons of feedback with instability with the slightest overclock. Anyway, I did try and roll back to driver version 353.62 but I still TDR. Despite reports that I would even get a better overclock is completely unfound. The more time I spend on these cards, the more I believe that the overclocking Maxwell is just limited to benchmarking, nothing more. When gaming, I sense everyone just goes back to stock/factory OC clocks. Now what is causing these instabilities is a major mystery that no one managed to answer. Sure you can have a lot of reasons and a lot of people might be unstable for different causes. Still, there is that big group who are having an exact same reason of instability. That specific reason somehow points to driver + Maxwell design. The fact that NVidia never came out and acknowledged it hints to such an issue. They aren't ready to have another 970 fiasco at their hands. Do note, I have tested this for months if you factor in the original 980 (I had an EVGA 980 SC SLI setup). I even read Kingpin post blaming the drivers. I even suspected that NVidia just didn't care about Windows 7 and so upgraded to Windows 10 to find the same issue. I know that this is some conspiracy theory on my end, but if you do some research, you might end up with the same conclusion...

Vayne4800 Now what is causing these instabilities is a major mystery that no one managed to answer.
The answer to this question is simple. The owner of the product is who is causing the instabilities by overclocking the card too high and expecting it to perform at those overclocks in every single game. The card boosts to 1404 out of the box and is stable right? The difference between 1404 & 1450-1500 is gonna be nil, you won't even notice the difference unless you're benchmarking.

So are you telling me, that every owner of a 980 Ti Kingpin, can't game over the stock boost clocks in every game? If that is a known fact, I will accept your argument.

No, I didn't say that. You can but the clock will vary from game to game due to how each game uses the gpu differently. You need to realize that your card is boosting to 1404MHz out of the box, that's 100MHz over the stock kingpin boost clock rating & 329MHz more than a reference 980 ti.

1455MHz is what I use for gaming. I could use a higher OC around 1506MHz and be stable in most games, but there is not much of a performance increase though and not worth the trouble.

You see, in the past, people considered a good overclock as one that is absolutely stable everywhere, assuming all games tested have no issues themselves. Now, with no intention to offend you, you mention that you can OC to 1506Mhz and be stable in "most games" is just really a proper OC answer. Sadly, I don't know what happened in the last ten years. With that said, I have dropped my OC to 1455Mhz as well with memory at 7800Mhz and will keep testing it via normally playing Witcher 3 and Batman AK. At overclock.net, they mention that to be stable at +1500Mhz on air, temps need to be between 50-60C which IMO is quite a challenge to achieve in a case. As most who are able to do that are doing it outside a case. I still have the option to re-apply TIM but will investigate that when I have more leisure time. For the record, I am still keeping that +12mV overvoltage despite a lot telling me otherwise. I wish there was a be all end all test that can tell you what is the most stable OC. The old days are behind us when we actually were able to do that.

I suppose I should have worded that different. 1455MHz is what I use for gaming. I could use a higher OC around 1506MHz and be stable in every game I own, but there is not much of a performance increase and not worth the trouble if it becomes unstable in a new game later down the road. 1531MHz is the best I can get with my two card's when benching, which I am happy with. It really come down to my second card not being able to push past that, one card will hit the 1550MHz range alone. 75C or lower (top GPU) would be my target temp for high demand gaming.

You are making it hard for me to give your replies any credibility when you reply like that. I went from SLI 980 SC (~70% ASIC), SLI 980 Ti Hybrid (~64% ASIC) and now jumped to the highly praised SLI 980 Ti Kingpin (72% and 75.4% ASIC). Had horrible OC experience with them all. I wasn't even aiming 1500Mhz, I'd be happy with a notch above stock boost. Surely there is something more to it than "silicon lottery".

Do you know what each card can do when ran one at a time ? I would try a lot of game and bench mark testing one card at a time. Then once you know what each card can do, go back and do them together. Mine are about 20MHz apart on what they can OC to, they are 75.1% and 75% ASIC.

I know you asked me to do that multiple times before. It just seems like a redundant step to me.

I always find out what each of my GPU's can do before OC'ing them in SLI. Because if one GPU is way behind the other then I have a better understanding of what to expect when OC'ing two of them together. So you may have one that is stable at 1500MHz and the other stable at 1480MHz, more then likely you will need to be at the lowest card's OC when running SLI. Maybe even slightly lower like 1475MHz.

Vayne4800 I know you asked me to do that multiple times before. It just seems like a redundant step to me.
It is a legitimate step in the process. If you watch the video of Vince overclocking the 4 way K|ngp|n setup (will get it for you asap) you will see he sets 4 cards out, test each one individually and progressively moves up. Each time you add a card, you add stress to the psu and the motherboard components having to feed it information as well as power, so testing each card individually may net better results and give you a good idea, especially if one card is holding the other back.

Vayne4800 Well mate, I never exceed 75C. I ran Fire Strike Ultra for 30 minutes loop and my profile keeps temps below 75C. Yet in games, so far, I run 100%/+50/+350/+12mV. What you think is holding me back?
Silicon lottery.
From what I've seen with my titan x's asic quality means nothing. My cards range from 62% all the up to 75%. All of them can hit 1450MHz on the core & 8000MHz on the memory. With that being said only 6 people on the firestrike extreme hall of fame list are able to beat my graphics score produced by my titans.

Re-applied TIM. No improvement. I gone and wasted a lot of time and effort and gained nothing and lost time and money. Never again. This will be my first and last investment in an enthusiast card which is touted to run great on air in addition to water and LN2. Next time it will be an MSI or an Asus. Cheap and better chance at OC.

Any card can get great OC's.. Every card can be a very BAD oc'er as well.. It luck of the silicone lottery... And this is why I always suggest people to get the reference cards first. The reference is overclocking very well, without the extra hardware. The K|ngp|n's are great cards, but not meant for everyone. That is why EVGA puts this blurb out with every K|ngp|n sold now.*Please note this ASIC Quality* DOES NOT guarantee any specific overclock performance, it is merely a guide.*

Last time I had a cpu cooler with a full copper block it would initially run very cool on air cooling but after 30 mins would be cooking not just the cpu but my entire case since my case could not keep up with the dissipated heat from the copper.
I believe that is what is happening while running two Kingpins. Just my experience not proven by science or anything. I replaced that cooler with an AL CU equivalent and my temps dropped 10 C during prolonged sessions of gaming.
I think 75 c are great temps and to be honest since using SLI systems this is the lowest SLI temps I have seen in any air cooled setup I ran including 670, 680, 780, and 970 SLI setups.

When I see these GTX780Ti K|NGP|N on video I feel sick immediately... I shouldn't look that in the morning my day will go in wrong direction... I must start breathing exercises instantly to calm down...
