I have a 4090 with the new power connector, I also have an EVGA P2 1600 watt PSU. Is this the correct cable and will it work with my PSU and 4090?

    That one does not work with the 4090.

    Slightly related question:
    I have an EVGA 1600 P+ Supernova PSU. Is there any cable sold by EVGA that we can use to connect to a 4090 so that we don't have to you the dangerous adapter it ships with?

    there isn't yet, it's being worked on as mentioned in this topic from https://forums.evga.com/12-4-cable-for-rtx4000-m3577260.aspx
     
    I haven't heard a timeframe yet, hopefully it won't be too long, though for now I'd just be extra careful with the adapter, make sure it's fully seated, all cables attached, don't raise the power target above 100%, and do you best to avoid bending the cable anywhere near the adapter. the exact problem hasn't been found yet that I know of, but there's been plenty of theories as to why it burns sometimes. (I haven't heard of a reviewer reproducing the failure yet)
     
    in any case I'll be getting one once to comes out too, but I'm not too worried atm given the precautions I'm taking.
