Well I've pretty much ruled out the 11th Gen Intels from being something I'm interested in baring the 11900K somehow being an amazing performer in comparison to the 11700K early leaks - perhaps part of that was BIOS issues, who knows, but regardless, 10850K is a good mix of price & performance. 5900x would be even better, but all the stuff I'd have to do to get that done, and the fact that getting ahold of one at MSRP is still neigh on impossible... meh.

I don't have any EK fans, but I've yet to find a fan that is silent at 1500 rpm. I have Noctua F12's, Silent Wings 3, and some Corsairs that came with an AIO. All are very quiet at 1000 rpm. None are silent at 1500. F12 is quietest of those 3. I've got some Noctua A12's being delivered tomorrow which are supposedly better yet.

It's done now! I know it might be... unnecessary, but I'm sticking 3 memory blocks on the back. I got most of the holes drilled. (A few where the LCD went, I haven't had the patience to measure etc). Tomorrow a few parts are coming so I can measure the rest and order accordingly. Hey we're hear to cool everything in sight! Even if we don't need to...

Dabadger84 Is that tubing small, or does the picture just make it look small? It looks very neat, I just think I'd have an aneurism worrying about leaks.
That's 13mm OD Tubing (actually it's not Tubing, but Fuel Hose. Build was way more expensive than planned, so I cut cost on the tubing😂)

Dabadger84 I really wish there were more backplate-side cooling options available. Doing a block on both sides of the card would be pretty ridiculous for me, tubing wise, and leak testing that would be beyond scary.
It's not too bad. You can see it pretty good and feel it with the Fingertip.
Also, it's not more tubing, if you hook them up in series.
Nice one Lord, I take it that is the mp5works series back plate cooler. What is the front plate? If you did it again what would you do differently?
I would probably take a different Brand Block. This one is a Bykski and it's not too bad, but it comes with the wrong thermal pad and without any instructions. My plan was to go for aquacomputer or watercool. But both companies still haven't finished development on their FTW3 Blocks
Sure thing, what do you think I would need for a radiator with just the front and back of the GPU water cooled, I am running a rather interesting eGPU set up, so only need to cool the card. Would 280x28mm do it or do you think I need to go bigger / deeper?

There is no end. Always go bigger, always go deeper. I attached a $1499 water chiller to mine... I want a phase change. Love the game, never stop, unless you have kids. Or cats...

I would not go that small for the GPU. Keep in mind a Kingpin saturates a 360mm radiator pretty darn well when under heavy load that radiator can spit up to 41C air out of the back, and that's with push pull, in a high airflow environment. I would go with the biggest you can fit in your case to keep the GPU plenty happy. Hence why I'm planning on having the GPU go to a 480mm /60mm thicc radiator on my loop when the time comes lol

There is no way for silent operation or low Temps with just 1 280 Rad. I'm topping out with 37 °C water temp with 3x 360x120 slim radiators. But that's with 60% Fan Speed and about 800w pulled from the Wall. With that fan configuration, the gpu reaches shy of 50c and the Junction creeps up to 68c.

I'm still looking for before and after numbers on front side thermal pad removal. One post stacked new thermal pads on the existing stock pads... so I'm confused as to what thickness you all recommend for front side. Thank you.

Finally got around to listing this AIO on EBay because I'm tired of waiting on the dude to pay for it. We shall see what it goes for. In the mean time I'm seriously considering a X570 build route... very tempted to just order a 5800x and upgrade later when the 5950x comes in to stock at regular price. But spending ~$900 to then spend another $799+ later is iffy. On the topic of cooling updates, I'm going to let my room level off tonight at a nice even 70F & redo the testing again now that the paste has had time to sit & all that jazz, see what temps we see. Also curious about Cyberpunk numbers, haven't been on that game in about 2-3 weeks, between the crap of dealing with this loop & the CPU block issues & other real life things like my dog passing away, haven't had much time for immersive gaming, and boy could I use a mental get-away right now...

So I bought these 2mm plastic spacers to put around the board where the screws go. Nothing I measured was over 2mm. I figure with the right pads in the right places... You would need some really crazy pressure for something to poke through to the copper plate. Also I really like this Optimus company. Sometimes rolling out the red carpet makes you feel that much better... and the way they pack their items, it makes you feel nice: Just ordered the last few parts (Thermal pads etc) for the backplate. Can't wait this has been a long week... (My last item for project doesn't come till Friday, what a long week this is gonna be)

So you're doing really thin pads between the plate & components? Results should be interesting indeed.
All these complaints about hot Temps specifically on the 5800x are making me want to steer clear of it, so for now I'll be waiting on the 5900-5950x to grace us with their presence at MSRP ($549/$799)

Memory: 1.5mm fuji poly 17 w/mk (lets see if amazon can get this order right, last time they sent half 17 half 11) Backside VRM etc: Alphacool Eisschicht Thermal Pad 14w/mK 0.5mm Titanrig had a 100 x 100 for $44 Backside gpu 1.5mm fuji poly 11w/mk (I had on deck and not sure I want to waste $40 just to say it’s 17? I’ll research and decide this afternoon. Being that Zietec doesn’t make a 17, in theory the best EVGa could have ordered was 11, and who’s to say thats whats they ordered... 11 should be fine? Then I’m doing a little weird experiment. I’m adding a lot of 2mm around the backside to cool the pcb. Where essentially you would not target cooling. This is kind of a lame experiment, but as things get so hot I imagine it saturates. I want to know if it will help at all. Might make 0 difference. It won’t be completely covered as I don’t want to create hot pockets (Peperoni all the way) But I will cover a lot of it. 9 120 x 20 x 2 Thermal Grizzly pads on the way. Also to buffer to make sure the card doesn’t bow and touch things I don’t want it to touch. I have the money to buy both cpus, but the am4 water block won’t be here for 2-4 weeks, so no brainer to wait on that. The Z590 board is not for sale yet, so sitting on hands there. I’m looking for a 570 hero board at retail currently tho.

I haven't even cleaned it up fully yet, I just wanted to get the lighting controller in there & make sure it worked. Plan is to move 3 X3M fans on to the GPU radiator (as intake) so that looks uniform, and level out the other areas accordingly, get the fans that have the opposite lighting pattern all in the same spot, then tidy up the RGB wiring as much as possible. Now that I have 4 extensions & the hub, that's a lot easier, because I don't have to worry about running wires all the way to the motherboard's RGB headers. Instead, I can bundle up the cord "rats nest" that comes off fans, tie it somewhere, then use one of the extensions to run the last "out" of each strand to the hub. I'm just happy I finally have WORKING and CONTROLLED lighting on the CPU block, it looks very nice. And yes, the RAM is G.Skill - I wouldn't use their software if I were you, it's meh. Sometimes RGB Fusion (Gigabyte Motherboard lighting software) let's me control the lighting on the RAM, sometimes it won't... it's completely random & varies each boot up... if I want to "Have another go" at trying to get control, I have to completely shut down & turn off the PSU then try again. I also have to close RGB Fusion to use EK's lighting control software, but that's not a big deal since now the only things being controlled by Fusion are the motherboard itself's lighting & the RAM sticks (if they show up). All of the 5V headers are plugged in to the EK Controller now.

This seems perfect and sleek. What you all think? Only $45. It's 120mm long, 80mm wide, 27mm tall. I assume it's loud as it's server hardware but it's PWM fan adjustable. Rated to cool 180 watts. Can set it up so it blows the hot air directly out of the PC. Copper so it sucks heat up quickly and has some sort of vaper chamber technology. No crazy mods needed just plug and play. Just add a lil extra thermal paste so it's 100% covered and your good to go hahhaha!! Amazon keyword: Dynatron A31 AMD EPYC

Dabadger84 So you're doing really thin pads between the plate & components? Results should be interesting indeed.
All these complaints about hot Temps specifically on the 5800x are making me want to steer clear of it, so for now I'll be waiting on the 5900-5950x to grace us with their presence at MSRP ($549/$799)
My brother just got a 5800X. He paired it with a Noctua NH-U9S chromax.black. I know that's not the most powerful air-cooler out there, but I can tell you he has nice airflow in his case and it was running quite warm. He had it stock clocks and with or without PBO running, it was hitting 90°C in several games. He gave it a .1V underclock in BIOS and now he's getting mid-70's, but clocks are hitting around ~4.5GHz. For what he uses it for, it's a fantastic upgrade over his prior CPU and it's plenty fast for what he does, so there's no reason for him to complain about the under-volt/clock. I think if you water-cool it, it'll be fine, but I've seen a lot of posts elsewhere about silicon lottery with those and while some people can overclock to 5GHz, it is extremely rare and most people can only do it temporarily as it is unstable. I advised my brother to return the NH-U9S if he can and get the NH-U12S black or even the 14 or 15 depending on what he has room for, but he might just save up for a decent 280mm AIO. Totally anecdotal information, but I thought I'd share as I just chatted with him all yesterday about ways to get the most possible performance while still maintaining decent temps with that thing. I'm an Intel guy though (just in experience, I'm not anti-AMD at all) so it was all pretty new to me.

ShadowMAN280x This seems perfect and sleek.
No PWM control will ever bring a server fan down to desktop PC noise levels but you might be able to swap the fan for something quiet.

Yep, that's exactly the type of thing I keep seeing in other people's posts about it, and it seems to only be the 5800x that's having the "runs insanely hot unless you undervolt it" or similar stories, like the motherboards are setting voltage too high or something. I also really want the higher core count of the 5900x or 5950x. If anyone has access to a microcenter & is willing to sell me a 5900x or 5950x, I'm willing to pay a reasonable fee for your troubles. I already pretty much locked down that I'm getting this motherboard: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T5QFXFY/ because of it's massive amount of USB ports, included M.2 card ($60-$100 value), right angle 24-pin plug, and other things I like about it. Edit: Am I crazy for seriously considering buying a 3950x for a temporary CPU? lol Edit 2: now that I think about it, given 5800x's are reselling for ~$400 on EBay, might as well just get one of those as a temporary CPU, or something else that's on the cheaper end... just something to get the system up & running. Might get a 3000-series to where I won't have BIOS issues that might be the case with a 5000-series. I don't mind the temporary hit in gaming performance since in the long run I'll be getting a net-positive in that aspect once I have a 5900x/5950x.
