The damage is so minor I would just bend things in shape and call it a day. Not worth an RMA and the risk loosing the card in transport. Remember neither UPS nor Fedex offer insurance just declared value. So good luck getting anything back for a used card you still paid a lot of money for. But maybe that is different in the UK.

There are insurance options from every company that I've used so far in the UK. UPS, DHL, Royal Mail etc, it usually is something like £5-£10 extra to cover up to £1k and then £30 to cover £2k.

I've never had a package go missing either to be honest, they all come with live tracking too. That is for the premium services though, but then again you wouldn't send something like this in anything less. And yeah I will most likely just sort out the pins and re-pad and repaste the card and leave it for now, new gen is around the corner and I am eager to pick one of those up, but it definitely won't be EVGA that's for sure :)

But that is declared value not insurance. Big misunderstanding and that is intended. Same thing in the US. Insurance you would have to get from independent insurance company. Here is an explanation as an example. One of many if you search around. https://consumerist.com/2013/06/12/ups-doesnt-offer-insurance-even-if-an-employee-tells-you-it-does/. Fedex is the same in the US.My local Fedex guy explained to me it is not insurance and the most I would get back with luck is half of the declared value. Basically a scam to pilfer some extra money.

If they truly deny RMA for a optical defect (that I DIDNT CAUSE) then that is a sure way of making me never buy an EVGA product ever again, and considering my purchase history that is going to do more harm to them than to me tbh.

That's what EVGA will do. Any damage to the cooler voids the entire card's warranty. They told you that. You pasted what they said for us to read. EVGA is not accepting responsibility for the damage.

It appears that I have to repeat this again but here we go....

If you read this CAREFULLY, you will see that they are denying RMA for the optical defect of the cooler, not that I am unable to RMA the card should anything else happen (like if it randomly dies). So the only thing I cannot do is claim any RMA for the cooler itself, NOT THE CARD.

sigh...

The next line states, that they assume that the damage was your own fault and that they will deny the RMA. I know it is confusing and it seems that they are talking about an RMA for the cooler, but actually they are saying any RMA for any reason will be denied. That is the way EVGA's warranty works. Any damage, whether related or unrelated to the cause of the RMA, will cause the warranty claim to be denied.

If you don't believe us now, you are in for a shock if the card dies and you try to get it replaced via warranty RMA.

Examples:
https://forums.evga.com/P...-scratch-m2742985.aspx
https://forums.evga.com/W...warranty-m2916815.aspx
https://forums.evga.com/R...o-Damage-m2907218.aspx
https://forums.evga.com/R...-sticker-m2922059.aspx
https://forums.evga.com/R...eed-help-m2930150.aspx

Basically, any RMA of that card, in that condition, for any reason, will be denied. Then, if you beg and make enough stink about it here and on social media and stuff, EVGA might make an exception. And then the fanboys will praise EVGA.

Ah I see now. Thank you for the detailed response and examples... I stand corrected, apologies for my response.

I am not one to beg, so let's hope it doesn't die on me during the next few months before I replace it. It really is a shame that I'd have to resort to social media complaints to potentially even get their attention... Ah well, life goes on I guess.

Just wanted to update this with some good news, that have restored my faith in the company.

I reached out to support explaining my situation and describing the fan issue. They requested a video which I submitted and after a few troubleshooting steps, they issued an RMA number should I want to do it (despite the cooler damage). I then further explained that I don't want to waste their resources and time for a complete RMA, but would just prefer a new fan (in this case the problematic one was the one with blue connector). Support informed me that they do not supply individual fans but will check with their suppliers and let me know...

Well, 3 days later a brand new fan came in the mail and I am over the moon, no more screeching! For those interested, the fan is Power Logic and model is PLD092220B12H.

Thank you EVGA :)
