What does max clock tell us? That always occurs when the gpu sees a low load so it can boost to the voltage limit. Might have a little more meaning if the card wasn't power limited.

Tells us where the clock is at, I myself would be more interested in that. But to each is own, just my preference

I got this 3080 TI FTW a few days ago and so far I'm happy. It's quite a bit more noisy and warm than my Aorus 1080TI, but the performance jump is significant. +105 on GPU clock, +1120 on memory and the temp target at 93. this is what I got so far. Time spy 20020 https://www.3dmark.com/spy/21459328Time spy extreme 10677 https://www.3dmark.com/spy/21459397Port Royal 14175 https://www.3dmark.com/pr/1123572 MY CPU score is a bit low, because I just flashed the bios and the CPU is just stock + XMP. I'm happy with the graphics side of things.

Just to add, because I feel it's important. Every card boosts different, and every model begins at a different base clock. I've had xc3 cards overclock higher than a ftw3. So again, in my humble opinion, saying you got + something on the core really doesn't offer as much information as just saying what your core clock is stable at. I'm not trying to argue, but just want to offer my view in the event that others might understand. Having said that, my 3080 ti ftw3 hybrid is stable at 2085, anything above that crashes. This is the highest stable clock across all my games for extended periods of times, as each game has a different tolerance for clocks.

I'm waiting until I put the card under water via an EK block to see where the max is but for the last month I have been running a +100/+200 @104% power limit using a fixed 74% fan setting all via afterburner and while playing Apex I am rocking 2055-2070Mhz 'in' an open case(Dimastech) in game driving a 3840x1600 monitor. Temps are around 56C-64C depending on much is happening on screen I'm thinking 2150+ will be realized once under water because I'm barely hitting 400w currently and will be cooling with two 420(3x140mm) EK rads(45mm thick) so my cooling overhead will be substantial.

That would be sick man, I'd like to get to 2100 myself stable but it'll crash after 30+ in demanding games. Not sure where my power is I'll have to check.

I am getting about +120 on the core which brings me to peak 2050mhz and +1000 on mem. However I have seen the rainbow effect and artifacting when I put the memory too high so most the time I just have it at +200 for memory. Doesnt really affect games too much only the benchmarks. Thanks, -Brandon I am waiting on stock for the ekwb at performancepcs so I can get her under water and see if it does a bit better. OR if EVGA could be so kind and release a new vbios to give us all more power. I am capped at 114% power. Previous 2080ti cards had same issue but they released a vbios to push some of them to 124-130% power.

I'll be surprised if they release a bios with a higher power limit. 8pin #2 power draw would start getting uncomfortably close to the 20 amp fuse limit.

You should be more interested in the "average" clock because these cards are throttled for various reasons between temperatures and power limits. talon951 I'll be surprised if they release a bios with a higher power limit. 8pin #2 power draw would start getting uncomfortably close to the 20 amp fuse limit.
I was thinking about this on my way to work. I'm curious how the fuses see the amount of amps in... What if they see it like how GPU-Z sees it? I guess we'd have to ask some youtuber who got the card for free to text the galax bios higher than 500W to give it a go and see if they blow a fuse.

the FTW3 has 3x 8pin connectors, but even with three connectors, i think 450W is plenty power for a graphics card.

My understanding is all of the power from the connector goes through the fuse. I can't find any flaw in my measurements or meter either. Matches well on other cards I own. Just this one 8 pin on one card (3080ti FTW3) reads higher than indicated by the card. I did several checks before posting anything on Overclockers forum thinking I must be getting a bad reading.

Yeah, I thought about it more while at work and realized my thought process made no sense. The fuse wouldn't do its job if it waited for other hardware or software to tell it how many amps were coming in lol.

That's still pretty good. I just got my 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra yesterday, and did some benchmarking and OC'ing, and so far the best I got is +125 Core | +1000 Memory for TimeSpy, but it crashed after a 2 hours or so in Warzone and in AC Valhalla. Unfortunately that was the end of the night for me and will do some more testing today. Seeming like +110 | +800 is my safe and stable clock. Also did benchmark pretty decent at that as well. I guess I didn't win the silicon lottery with this card, but I still got a 3080 Ti FTW3 so not a complete loss lol. Beggars can't be choosers

In my experience core clock is responsible for 95% of crashes, so if you crash at 125/1000, I bet you'd still be fine at 110/1000. Also would be helpful if everyone who doesn't have their specs in sig or a rig profile post if you're on air or water (or hybrid I guess) because that's pretty important context.

Updating with some recent numbers I am happy with: Port Royal 15,155K https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/63589838 Time Spy 20,630K Time Spy Graphics Score 22,465K https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/63589953 I'll probably give up on 3DMark scores until I get bored and something changes (drivers, my hardware, etc) otherwise I am mostly tuning to see what will be my best daily overclock. I have my doubts these current settings will be stable but will likely just bump up the core/mem a bit more and test for weeks in various games. If I am completely stable at +150/+699 maybe +165/+999 will work. Will report back in a few weeks :D

Those of you running +1000 memory - are you sure this is not regressive? Easy way to tell is to run the Timespy Stress Test which loops for 20 cycles and checks for cycle to cycle variances. Run it again at +800. If the stress test results are better at +800, it means that memory error correction is impacting performance at +1000.

+1100 for me and yes I tested it for performance. +1100-1200 was about the same. Anything higher was a loss.

I just run several benchmarks and see if the scores are going up or going down. https://www.3dmark.com/co.../20899473/spy/20899423

Well you don't always win, but at the end of the day it's not a noticeable performance difference.
