This is really dangerous, so be careful when you use it with full load for a long time.

Can this situation be repaired within the warranty? I am curious about this problem.

Looking at the board layout from the image in this thread, and comparing it to images of your card, it LOOKS like you popped at least one capacitor.

Sorry.  Hope it didn't hurt anything else on your rig.

Well, I was excited yesterday about receiving my video card from EVGA. Card worked great for 24 hours before catching on fire literally today. The card was not overclocked, modified in anyway, no custom bios or fan speeds messed with. Just installed the drivers and the LED software. Card temps never went above 50c and was never really pushed, this is the first video card I have ever had catch on fire. Thank God I was able to yank the power cord fast enough before I lost any other parts. I just submitted an RMA so I guess it's a wait and see what EVGA says, the whole backside of the video card is burned up with multiple components burnt to a crisp.

I will say the card worked great out of the box until the incident, I guess it's back to my old AMD Vega 64 for another 2 or 3 months.

Dang, that suck - hope you get a replacement! I know that card is under warranty.

Unfortunately, these things happen with electronics. I bought a 65" LG OLED last year. Plugged it in, turned it on and BOOM.. Big flash from the back, fair amount of black smoke and tripped the breaker. After I composed myself, I unplugged it, took it back and exchanged it. New one has worked perfectly since.

Since this is reviving a necro thread, I'm curious what the final outcome of this was...
