What are the first orders? The 9/7 orders?

This week for 9/7, then next week for 9/8, then 9/9, and so on. A week per day of preorders. :)

Not sure if this is a "known / known" or an "known / unknown", but regardless: in case anybody missed it...

RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra boost clock 1755 MHz.

Out of the box, quite a nice overclock! Congrats to anyone getting one.

One thing about my order is I can’t have it held for pickup. For some reason EVGA does not allow that. So now I have to wait around all day to get the package since UPS *usually* delivers in the afternoon. No way I'm letting that high value of a package sit on the front porch in these days of idiots that follow UPS and FedEx trucks and lift packages.

Going to speak with UPS customer service to see if I can get it held anyway but am curious why EVGA would choose to disallow that option. It’s more secure and helps prevent theft if people pick them up at a counter where you have to sign for it and present ID.

Heads up to anyone else that got 2nd day and maybe other shipping. That option is unavailable, at least on my shipment it’s unavailable.

Not much point in those numbers. ALL 2080Ti cards, FE to FTW3 boost at 2000+ out of the box. FE boosted to 21100 on a Techpowerup test. Boost clock mean nothing in the specs, since all cards get you more. The interested thing is how high can FTW3 go in the same environment as cheaper cards.

You sure you aren’t confusing 2080 numbers with Ti?

Very curious to see though some cards are topping out at 1700. I suspect the Ti FTW3 Ultra might not go too much higher if the similarities between how high the 10 series could go are any indication. But maybe we get surprised? Lots of power phases, cooling, and a high power limit might do us well. Or maybe not. If I can hit 1800, I’ll be more than happy.

I'm not - I think in their testing they didn't see below 1950. With a manual overclock you go above 2000 easily.
FTW3's advantage might be the power limit and that's the selling point. If it can get cooled properly.
But the prime problem that makes all the cards pretty much the same is the voltage and the fact the chip does not scale with it, even if it could be changed without mods and subzero. Sub-zero, those cards catch 2400-2450 on average. Water cooled they stay 2050+ at all times.

Hi Frammish, no I don't think so. The numbers are taken from the EVGA USA website for the 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra.

Exactly what tonicij says: FTW3 Ultra will ultimately be voltage limited to the same extent as cheaper cards. So unless you are willing to do shunt mods (invalidating warranty) then there seems little point to me to spend the extra for one of these. But it is a nice out of the box boost for those just wanting to plug and play. Or for those that intend to get out the soldering iron.

Spending money on effective cooling to improve average clock speeds rather than money on extra VRM phases seems to be a better way to go.

We probably won't be getting any shipping info until much later in the day.

That is my thoughts too. With how UPS picked up the orders late afternoon/early evening yesterday, we're probably looking at the same deal if anything ships today.

People got notifications of the 2080 FTWs shipping earlier in the day yesterday. They could come through at any time.

Got an update from chat....some of you guys (me included) might not like to hear it tho

Adam B02:46:03 pm   Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA available on when the 2080Ti FTW3 pre-orders will ship. There was a slight shipping delay affecting us getting the cards from overseas but we are hoping we will be able to ship them soon.

Adam B02:49:41 pm   Some may have shipped but not all. We are shipping as soon as we receive the cards from overseas but I do not have an ETA on when the rest of them will arrive. We are processing orders in the order which we received them. Yours should be shipping soon, but I do not have an exact timeframe I can provide. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

If you contact EVGA customer support they can authorize UPS to hold the package.  The default option when shipping with signature confirmation is for holding of packages to be disabled, I had a similar situation with B&H this year.

As a side note, does everybody else's tracking say that the package requires a 21+ signature?  Not that I could have afforded a flagship GPU when I was 18 but hey, the option would have been nice.

Well at least that's some insight on what the hold up has been.

Also, Jacob posted in another thread saying more cards should ship out today.

No point in contacting EVGAs customer support. They literally know nothing on what's going on, I've asked multiple times to different people and went as far as calling them. They basically said they don't have any info and pointed me to Jacob Freeman's tweets as that's what they go by including the info supervisors get.

Hey @kranrev, I just spoke with customer service and while nice, they said it is for insurance reasons that it has to be delivered to the shipping address. Not sure why I still have the option to have it delivered elsewhere (for an extra fee), but that is what they said. So just a heads-up - it's going to the delivery address for me and likely for everyone else. No holds.

On the side note, on my UPS tracking page there is no notice of a signature being required which is also strange since your's apparently does. I looked all over the page for my package but saw no signature notice.

On the plus side, mine gets ever closer. Just a state away right now...

Sign up for UPS My Choice and have it delivered to an Access point, most packages are able to have this done. Sometimes it will cost your $5 to have this done, but if you just spent 1300 on a card I don't think the $5 is a big deal.

I don't care about the damn money. I have my choice, but from what I'm hearing from everybody is Evga blocks this from happening, and requires it to be delivered to the shipping address

The shipping only to your billing address is likely for their own safety.  Too many scams around, and by shipping to your billing address with proof it can curb a lot of that and fight off chargebacks.

Yes, cause your credit card company doesn't care about that.  They only care about proof of delivery to the address tied to your credit card.   A lot of people change their billing address to their place of work to avoid issues like what you have.
