I just got my KPE in today and got it all set up and been running some benches to get a good OC set on it. I can’t seem to get a decent OC on it with GPU over +100 crashing and MEM over +750 also crashing. This is on the stock 240 rad and my ambient is only 60-64F (~16-18C). Any advise or recommendations? Did I just get a dud?

The +100 core is meaningless, it's just an off set. What is the actual core speed it's boosting to?

+100 isn't telling us much, what is that +100 from as a starting point. As far as memory don't jump all at once, move up in low increment of about 10 or 15 run a couple times if successful raise 10 or 15 again. If using px1 slide power and voltage to Max. Put fans at Max as well. Sliding bios switch to OC will be more aggressive fan operation but the only way to get 100% fan operation will be to flash the ln2 bios into the OC or normal bios position. Below link should help you out as well. You should be able to get at least +1000 on the memory though, and most of the Kingpin will get 2175 to 2190

+750 on the mem is also low.

Highest stable I’ve gotten thus far is 2160 MHz on GPU which steps down to 2145 around 43C as expected. I’ll have to comb through that doc and maybe flash the bios over for the fan speed unlock. I’m working on the GPU first for now with mem at stock speed and then approach that later. Thanks for the initial info.

That's a good way to do it, figure out your max GPU clock then worry about your memory. They are kind of finicky.

So i set everything to stock, except for voltage and power sliders left at max, and ran the scan tool. The result was +226. But if I set that offset and hit test, my score is only a 26. Seems unlikely to be stable even though it recommended it to me. I guess I'll go back to running a Heaven loop and play with the settings until it stops crashing.

    Honestly?
    That looks low .
I was getting faster on my FTW3 with standard bios .
    Saying that, I'm crying because I can't get over 2295 .

I am thinking the same thing, my Port Royal score isn't terrible though at 10408. That was at 2160/8000 for my OC. Not sure what my next step should be to squeeze more out of it. I can try to bump up the settings in Classified I suppose.

Its up to you with the XOC and classy tool.
Im getting in too much trouble over that so I can't say much more.
BTW, what RAM and CPU are you using ?

I’m running a 9900K, 5GHz all cores and a couple 16GB sticks of Corsair Vengeance Pro. Default XMP @ 3200 and tightened the timings a bit. This computer is my daily so I’ll probably find max OC but not run it there daily since it’s my workhorse too. Are you using a chiller for those clocks on the KPE?

    Sort of.
Ram and chip are good so that won't stop you going faster.
    Has to be something else.

Yeah, it doesn't seem to be a temp thing either. I never see over low to mid 40s across any 3dMark benches. I think I'm going to delete PX1, DDU everything from safe mode, and start over. Maybe there is something messed up from my switch from the 2080 SLI setup I was running before.

You run the scan tool then just hit apply. It creates a custom VF curve. You don't later make that value an offset. Your honest 24/7 stable clock is likely about 2130Mhz, which is fine and within normal limits. If the guys who claimed super high clocks ran the Time Spy Extreme Stress Test test their feelings would be hurt. Some game engines are much more tolerant to iffy overclocks than others, so YMMV. But, TSEST will speak the truth.

Spit051261 runs his card high, but his rad is submerged in ice water with an AC unit blasting the case. Take those clocks with that note.

You can get your Kingpin higher but you will need voltage from the Classified tool to do it. That is much more of a benchmark thing than a 24/7 thing.

You can easily daily +1000 mem on a card with Samsung memory, which your KPE has. I have went as high as +1400 for benchmarks, but you have to work up and validate you are gaining FPS and not just slam it and hope for the best.

And a chiller on the cpu as well as room AC down to lowest it can go , just to try and stop condensation
He's right, without that cooling , I would never get anywhere near those values.
Also right about using classy tool but you will need good cooling to sustain any high clocks .
When I am benching , I have seen my core clock drop from from 2295 to 2280 if it goes 1 degree above 30 .
Maybe that's just my card , who knows .
If it gets higher , those clocks start tumbling.

Thanks for the info everyone. After resetting everything from the software side, it seems like my card falls within what is to be expected from stock cooling solution and the benchmark numbers and game FPS seem solid. So I’ll just enjoy it and leave well enough alone for now.

If you want a cheap way to get clocks higher , use a 17L Esky with ice water. Put your rad in and watch those temps fall .have to stir the ice around now and again

I never had luck with GPU OC.
But I can't complain about that's it's only luck because chips are different.
I only could get good OC if manufacturer decide to only golden samples sell.
But they could sell them on auctions and could profit 10 times more then I could pay them.
    That's why I don't care any more about OC, I mean I overclock, but I don't care if I don't have luck.
I have Poseidon on water I didn't overclocked single time GPU. From day one she is on fabric OC but clock is extremely high.
I think guy who sell me told me he OC 80-90MHz... For me that's suspicious because that would be chip who belong to 30% of best chips.
Not golden samples but very good chips because only GIGABYTE GTX1080Ti 2 models Xtreme Waterfoce have highest clock then mine for 12MHz.
That's when some brands recognize higher clock from others and then launch their GPU with little faster clock.

Are the KPEs known to have poor paste jobs? It doesn’t seem like the temps are bad in normal usage, it idles at 20-22C and I was playing the most recent Deus Ex for a couple hours and never hit over 36C. I’m only running at 2130 MHz for daily use so it should be fine, but if others chime in about paste change making a difference, I may just spend the time to do it.
