I am tired of waiting on EVGA for a card. Is the Founder's Edition on Nvidia's site a good card? What would be the downside in going with the Founder's edition cards? I know the positives, I can actually get a card.

No transferable warranty is one of the downsides. Worse cooling is another.

Is it really that much worse for cooling? The transferable warranty is not a big deal for me.

I have never really heard anything good about the cooling on founders cards. What 2080Ti care you waiting on? They have had most models in stock for more than a few hours at a time a few times in the last month.

bcavnaugh The OP plans of scalping them on Amazon and eBay. https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2904901
Being that the cards are in stock at NVIDIA.com, I don't think he would have any luck finding someone who would buy the card from him at a higher price on Amazon or eBay, without a warranty and without the free promotional offer; therefore I kind of doubt that is his real intent. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/rtx-2080-ti/
It comes from this; chrisdglong I should buy a couple of these and sell them for 2500 on Amazon...

I know. But that plan wouldn't work for FE cards.

Maybe buy the non TI EVGA version and use the step up program later?

Everything I've read or seen on the FE Edition shows the FE cards run real hot. Youd expect it to run hot on a blower card but not dual fans. Looks like they went for looks and skimped on cooling capability on the shroud thickness in places.

MSim Has Nvidia fixed the problems RTX 2080 Ti yet? https://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2018/11/15/nvidia-confirms-rtx-2080-ti-problem-the-same-day-one-bursts-into-flames/#50b4cf1d4958 https://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/One-EVGA-GeForce-RTX-2080-Ti-XC-Allegedly-Catches-Fire
Doesnt seem to be all an 'nvidia' issue either though. Remember the 980's? The Titan's? The 1080's? Yeah, those that didnt have proper cooling, and users kept getting the runaround? I remember. Thats also why I switched brands, and went for the best cooling (3 fans). I have 2 2080's in SLI (I know they arent TI's, but they also still need to be run with custom fan settings, because NOONE in the industry has proper fan settings out of the box for long term use, which is not just a shame, but ludicrous with how much users pay for these cards now), and have run almost all the latest games except AOC, and my cards stay cool, run my 2k @ 4k then downscales w/o any issues (a little flicker here and there, but SO worth it), and I dont see me needing a return on either card, ever. I am glad I didnt go green this time. You might want to try Zotac 2080's or TI's with the 3 fan cfg, and run their Firestorm program to up your fan curve settings, and enjoy excellent gaming with very cool running cards. https://www.amazon.com/ZOTAC-GeForce-352-bit-Backplate-Graphics/dp/B07GFTJCW5/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1547362740&sr=8-1&keywords=zotac+2080+ti Unless you want to buy a full waterblock for any other card out their to cool it well (non-3 fan cards). Also, some people dont run them correctly, with the fans setup well (I am talking case fans). I had to run mine 3-4 times before I got the best heat dispesrion for my case, that did NOT heat up the video cards much, expelled enough hot air, and did let any 'dead spots' sit under or over the cards. Good luck, these are very good cards, and I am so glad I went from my titan to the 2080's. Gaming is so much better now. Now, if only the game companies could put out a good game instead of a glorified tech demo, sigh. :P
