Should I be worried about this? On stock the VRAM grazes 75c gaming, and overclocked can hit 88c.

Update:Google chrome acceleration worsens the issue. Disabling it helps a bit. Benefit of disabling it is within margin of error.

That looks a bit high for a hybrid.  What are your temps all around at stock default settings?

I should note, the GPU comes pretty beefed up in OCs at stock so the temps will be higher than say a reference GPU.

Use this Associate Code at your checkouts or follow these instructions for Up to 10% OFF on all your EVGA purchases:

Stock temps seem okay. Mid-70s or so.

Update: I'll benchmark and post a pic real quick

2nd Update: This is only 3 minutes into Kombustor at 98.5%TDP on all stock settings. It hit nearly 80c before I stopped it. Best I could do 500kb upload limit had to crop it down to size and compress on tinypng.com.....
    Verdict?

Re: 2080 TI FTW3 Ultra Hybrid High Memory Temps 2019/07/10 23:25:04 (permalink)
As far as hybrids go, do you have the radiator pulling in cool air from outside the case?
I found that the lower I can keep my gpu temp, the lower my memory temps stay.
This is with the radiator exhausting heat out from the case.

And this is after I changed the fans to intake instead of exhaust.

These samples I posted are both taken with the same thermal paste and pad configuration. Same exact game played for an hour. Only the fans were flipped around to intake from exhaust, and the memory is quite a bit lower because of it.
This is also the hybrid kit put on the FTW3 Ultra, instead of being the hybrid card out of the gate like you have. Your memory temps do seem higher than mine even when our GPU temp was the same, so I wonder if maybe your fan speeds just need to be adjusted? What fan speed curve are you running in EVGA precision?
EDIT: I did notice you have a heavy overclock on it, so I'm not sure how much that affects temps.

Okay, I think there is something up with either your fan curve or maybe thermal pads. After 15 minutes with Kombustor, mine settled on 75C for the mem temps.

I have my ML120 fans on rear exhaust in a push/pull.

Edit: Actually your temps are significantly higher than mine on stock. These high temps are when overclocked @ 124% TDP, but still seems kinda high. I rarely see excess of 65c core and 75c memory stock settings. I will benchmark for 15 minutes on stock when I get home. Also, what test are you using in Kombustor? I am going to run Vulkan for 95% utilization

I would be, at least at Idle with an Hybrid Cooler 69°C seem over the top and at only 2025 80°C

I ran the first stress test in Kombustor. It was hitting 98% utilization. This is my first time using the test, so haven't really messed around with the settings. I can test it when I get home.

Those temps are under synthetic load on stock, not at idle. How about now? And yeah this card is a sorry overclocker. A $400 premium over my Black card and basically the same clockspeed. Pathetic.

Still to high for me for a Hybrid Cooler, Air I can it them.
What are you running synthetic load wise that it?
Can you post the same but at Idle Settings to get an idea.

After 10 minutes with an overclock, this is what it rested on. Runs pretty hot, so I usually just keep any OC off. Lol

So, I'm not sure how it happened, but my fan curves were reset to the CPU in the bios.  It changed my CPU OC back to 4.6 Ghz from 4.7 as well. I thought the fans were a bit quiet.

I just changed them back. This is what I get now.

Right, but I prefer to keep it OC'ed for daily use, and mine will get up to 85c too at +1200 overclocked.  Also, bear in mind I have a push/pull on my rad in rear exhaust

Hmm, is it that test that's different? I downclocked my memory, but it's still getting to 79 for that one specific test.

Look at the image below, can you move the GPU rad a slot or two over on top?  The reason why I ask is because that exhaust fan will take away some of that airflow from the top GPU rad.  If you flipped the top to intake, the fan there will intake exhaust air from the rear fan and just circulate warmer air around.

Option two which I would recommend if possible, move the CPU AIO to the top and move the GPU rad to the side top slot where the CPU AIO currently is with the tubes being at the bottom of the rad instead of the top.  I say this because you'll get access to cooler intake ambient air from the front right away.

That's my old setup. The top is intake now.
