Squall_Rinoa86 I decided I'll give this a shot.
Glad you can join us Squall! To get an accurate estimate on PPD, It's best to run Folding for a few days. I have an 1080TI that gets between 2-2.5 million PPD. But it can vary depending on what work units you run/get.
Not really sure what PPD I can do at this moment, but I put 1M so far and I'll do a crash course here soon and figure it out.

Doing an upgrade this weekend, I think I'll hit 8 mil per day including downtime. Love the energy here!

Hey all, just read through the thread and I'm glad things got pushed back or I would have missed this. Last year my was my first time ever folding, got drawn over here from the graphics card section of the forum in hopes of winning the 3060 Ti prize. I finally replaced my little RX 570 that I used in last years contest with an RTX 3070 a few months later, so I should be pumping out a much nicer PPD this year. EDIT: Last year I ended up with 3,811,671 total for the whole contest period. Right now it looks like I might be averaging 4 million per day.

Glad you could join us. That's a nice bump in performance. Hopefully we get some more sign-ups before the start.

Same. I completely forgot about this and actually was just checking to see how it went when lo and behold I wasn't too late after all. Glad to be apart.

Looks I need to lower my PPD to about 1.5 million. Not sure what's happened, but it seems that my three rigs have dropped their PPD output.

Yes there is a group of wu’s that give about 30-40% lower than average. I thought I was the only one getting them.

I have seen a drop ever since Dec MS W10 updates ... not sure if that is just a coincidence .... Probably just some change in the WU, as usually is the case FYI: Estimating your PPD = Points Per Day Seems some folders might have accidentally place a "wrong estimate" - (based on their entire 10 days of the contest) ..... Please make sure you entered a daily number & did not hit the 0 key, one too many times when typing

We are getting close to this. Do we have teams worked out? Is there team captains in the works? I have my rigs ready if Windows would play right and my internet stays up. They have been doing work on the cable lines and have had a few hours of no internet lately.

May the force be with you. This will be split between time zones. Looking at the sign ups, it will likely be combined zones, to make the teams as even as possible. Troy does a great job of keeping it competitive. I hope everyone is ready to go Monday bright and early. I've updated the PPD estimates of anyone who sent me a PM about it. Life has been really busy for me this year and I'm not able to devote as much time to this as I usually would but I wanted to keep the tradition alive for the community. Yodap to be honest the top 4 estimated ppd are all in the Eastern and with a large estimate. Us 4 can prob be our own team against the rest as long as Alex brings his estimated ppd. So if Alex can do it I say the top 4 CoolGTX Alex550 wiitleyca and me make a team. We can take on the other 4 time zones.
It will be a challenge to make it even and probably won't look like a traditional TZC but I'm sure they will make it right for all. Each one of you could lead your own team or you and Alex vs Cool and Whitley. Whatever it is, let's crunch through those work units. BTW anybody can blame me for anything.

The entries are locked - I'm doing final setup on the stats and will run a few hours of testing that I will come back later in the evening to verify. As with Troy, life has been a lot more complicated this year so I can't handhold the stats like I have in the past, so any errors that show up with missing blocks will be checked on, just not as fast as I usually do. We have 45 entrants this time around and I am proud to say that I didn't have to do a single verification lookup to get a name corrected this time around. I'm so PROUD! ;-) Anywho, gotta get back to the cleanup of the stats files and all that jazz. See you in a few hours when I go over the results of the test runs. d

My APC 750 UPS (battery backup) does not like the power draw of the new 3070... The load goes to full bars, and the battery charge lights blink while I fold.. Considering removing the battery from the equation during the event, wish me luck with the power grid! Planning to upgrade the CPU from 6700k to a 12700k in February, and boy it's really going to be unhappy then! I guess I'll have to find a way to upgrade the UPS too... Listing my 1080 on ebay to help cover the cost of this 3070, but maybe I should stuff it back in the PC for the contest. Is that cheating if I didn't have it in my estimate?!?!

Not cheating at all. Estimates are to try to even out the teams. Hardware maybe added and encouraged during the event. As long as you own the hardware. Depending on how the teams end up being set. I have my 2080ti sitting on standby in case my team needs the boost.
