If anyone is on twitter or farcebook, maybe we can post it there. <<{I am not a user} Not sure what impact that would have, being a bit short on time.

yodap This won’t be popular but I’d say postpone it. It’s scheduled to run concurrently with a PrimeGrid GPU challenge (7th to 17th). This cruncher would love to run both but wouldn’t be able to go all in on either. Having said this, a bunch of crunchers have signed up for this because we care. This is my personal opinion as we have not discussed it as group. We want to support both projects.
Being that my 3 2080 Ti's are going to run PG and my end plan was to only run one or maybe 2 1080 Ti cards. We also have the last BF Sprint 12/03/2021 04:00 (UTC) - 12/06/2021 03:59 (UTC) and we are now in a mini heatwave. My vote is to bring back the Folding/Crunching Contest next year and start and end before the 2022 Tour de Primes starts.

Yep I signed up for the TZC about 12 hours before Troy posted so I’m in no matter what where or when. The FB sprint will finish before the TZC and hopefully won’t be a GPU race. It will be announced in about 2.5 hours.

I'll join in. If there are not a lot of folders we could do EDST vs. PDSD East vs West. Is there really ever a time the crunchers are not in a sprint, challenge, contest or some other thing going on.

No idea about 3090 but: 3080 Ti if you keep it cold enough - ~ 8 Million PPD ... Most of the "good" WU @ 8 - 8.5 PPD ....

@ Xavier: I can't run my 3090 FTW at full power [75% pwr target] , it will crash. But, I think it will do 7-8million. It has been awhile since I have ran it versus my main 24/7 folder. Site below claims, 6.5 million PPD for 3090, 3080TI beating it slightly. << it's not completely accurate. https://folding.lar.systems/gpu_ppd/overall_ranks I hope you get your electrical squared away.

electrical not gonna change for awhile too many rooms on each circuit( small old breaker box ) so when i wash clothes, - use dryer, use microwave - use foodi, use induction cooktop i blow the breaker if my rig is on if i use the other circuit - then it's tied to other rooms and it almost always trips when the fridge turns on basically i have to replace breaker box and add about 5 new lines in the basement for electric so basically i have to shutdown the rig to cook or do clothes.....- yeah - i can cook in 1/2hr or less what i usually do is put old rig on the other line (with fridge) and it just runs under the wire - 2080ti the new rig has two 3090's and a 18 core intel - so yeah it draws quite a whallop and both my 3090's can run 100% without crashing

Glad to have you! Don't worry about output, just do what you can. I think many of us want to be able to fold more. :) After some discussion, we will be moving the contest start/end toward the end of this month. Probably the final week of the year. NO final date has been set yet, but look for official info in the main post/ contest site. I'm really sorry if this causes some confusion, or makes it an issue for your participation. Hopefully this is not the case. Troy will post the new dates. Any questions, I blame yodap! {J/K}

Good, now there is time for those who want to enter the TZC to run some WU for several days to a week & check their PPD estimates

It's all good. It will give me more time build it properly instead of throwing it together. I don't mind a thrash to put one together but if I have a another week or two I'll be able to make it pretty also. Lol. Should we redo the sign-up or have a list of updated ppd average for the contest?

Good question, I could go 2-3 million more if there is no competing crunching challenges at the time.

no date changes or sign-up changes posted yet - like extend- move them When is sign-up when does it end and when does the contest start and end you are leaving a lot of people hanging on details not posted YET (like edit the first post) if nothing is posted soon move it to jan and Get the contest rules changed - and get the contest rule page to point to to 2021 contest thread and not last years
