I would say yes. A prize is a prize.

The remote, I would say yes.
The ammo.....I don't know about, me personally, I would be upset if that's what I won out of the prizes, but that's me.

Can it be setup so the winning team gets moved over to the next highest points team until they reach 250 million points?
Then move the two teams to the next highest on down the line until all teams have completed the 250 million points?
This would get all the teams to the goal a lot faster and in the same order of completion.
Thoughts?

This sounds like a good idea, except in the case where the remaining teams are close in points.  It would be unfair to pile everyone from Eastern onto the next highest team, spoiling any competitiveness for 2nd place.

I think scattering members around amongst the lowest scoring teams would help the most. Just my thoughts on the matter.

That's not how it works - you pick from the list those things you are interested in.  We don't assign gifts to winners.  So, as long as you don't pick it, you won't get it.

OK, I am so new at this, but...... I will ask the silly question..... sorry.....

Are the donated gifts rated, or a worked out value?
And who get's to pick what from the list?? from where??

highest points for challenge??
Best PPD wins best prizes??
Best team??

I read the entire thread for last year, but did not see anything about this process.
I have donated, plus have more in the next couple of days, so would like to see everything go to those who can benefit/use those items.

Cheers
Steve

Apologies if this is not clear - those of us who have been around for a while probably take the prize distribution procedure for granted The order people pick a prize is determined by a random drawing of all qualifying participants in the contest.  It is not based on performance or winning (other than meeting the minimum PPD to qualify) so as not to put those with less resources at an unfair disadvantage.  Once that order has been established, people pick prizes in that order or if there is nothing that interests/benefits them they can pass to the next person on the list.  Thus people theoretically end up with a prize that they can put to good use.

Personally, I'd take ammo above most anything we currently have on the prize table! lol (Can't ever have too much, but surely can have too little.) :)

And, alas, I didn't think about those fellows who are across ponds (who are probably eye-rolling at gun owners everywhere at the moment.) They probably WOULD have some trouble getting their hands on firearm related items.

Instead I thought about Cabela's/Bass Pro Shop gift cards, but again... Probably none in Switzerland.

So how about I put $50 on the table, to American residents only. 'Cuz you know, "shipping" and all. ;)

Well, on the stats side of things, the Stanford stats server certainly has been a DRAG today - LONG LONG download times that should be near only 30 seconds at the most . . . So, the only errors I've seen on the stats side of things have been related to timeouts and flat out non-connects.

Just for the FYI and all that

Here's the temporary hourly history listing for the folks I've added from the signups before the 20th.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1o9f2-o1rcCzh_js23COhEI_QstGouLEZQNa9bZgtlO0/edit#gid=2

Feel free to look around , but I'm afraid it's not very exciting as I collect the raw numbers and leave it to Troy to make them pretty and end-user friendly. *laughs* Tho, I'm picking up little tricks from him each time we go out on this grand adventure.

Trying to monitor my 24 hour time now. My ppd looked low last time I checked, but it was only at about the 12 to 15 hour mark.

P.s. I am trying to monitor from Mountain time, rather than Eastern, lol.

I'm having issues with my HTPC allowing one of my 980s to keep going, every core 21 it gets it freaks out and stops trying.
Windows 10 with latest nvidia drivers. Anyone else having an issue on 10?

Scarlet-Tech - Feel free to check my stats and do the 24 hr averages off that as I pull each hourly update directly from Stanford and plug those numbers into the spreadsheet. Should be a pure average.

un4givn85 - I personally haven't had any issues with Win 10 and my 970s, but haven't been folding them for the last few days. I'll fire them up overnight and see if the logs show me anything in the morning. - edit - Just picked up a 0x18 and 0x21, so I'll let you know if they both succeed in the am.

Thanks.
I'm ordering a hybrid kit for one of them tomorrow and once it's here they will be in the same system again and hopefully be problem free.

A "humorous" proposal. Anyone care if I donate a box of 12ga 00 Buckshot!? (Or insert box of ammo of your choice here - for our firearm owners... if there are any.)

As much as I wouldn't mind a gift like that, there are probably a few issues with that kind of gift.  A gift card for the prize winner towards the purchase of ammo of their choosing would be a better choice.  Plus cheaper shipping and less paperwork to fill out.

I usually try to donate left over PC parts that I don't have a use for.  For some reason, I've been collecting a stack of 2.5 HDD ranging from 160GB to 500GB.  Been running tests on each one to find any bad ones.

Crystal: Intel i7 930 3.6GHz(OC) / EVGA X58 758 / 3x 4GB Corsair XMS3 / GTX 660Ti FTW+ / 2x GTX 560Ti SLI
Quartz (mothball): Intel i7 2600k 3.8GHz / EVGA Z77 Stinger mITX / 2x 4GB Corsair XMS3 / GTX 660Ti SC
Mercury: Intel i5 3570k 4.2GHz(OC) / ASRock Z68 mITX / 1x 4GB Corsair XMS3 / 2x GTX 1660 Super
Cobalt: Intel i7 4710HQ 2.5Ghz / ASUS GL551JM-DH71 / 2 x 8GB / GTX 860m - Gaming/Physics/Astronomy Laptop
"Honesty" - Means telling the truth to your girlfriend comes at a price.

Will look. I am monitoring everything closely, since I won't be home while the pc runs for 30+ days straight.

I finally broke down and bought a couple more Noctua NF-F12 fans for the video board loop and managed to squeeze them in. It was a bit of a pain because I had to remove the drive cage to access the screws and tighten them down but I didn't have to do as much to get it done as I had originally thought. There is a lot more airflow through that lower radiator now. I might try some Folding today to see how much it improved my cooling. I have been ordering 4-pin fan splitter cables for my case fans and H220 fans and all this time the Noctua fans have had them included. I have boxes with Y-splitters from Noctua all over the place and now I have a surplus.
Doh! [repeated facepalm]

I got some 2" wooden blocks from Amazon so I could raise my PC higher and get rid of the 2x4 that was blocking the downward airflow from the lower radiator in the front. It might look a little silly to some of you guys but it works!
