I agree 100%. I have not liked a corvette since the 70's Stingray's.

Watch this video you might like it. Saw it couple days ago. But IMO I think thats too much for a car that is that low of power. For the same amount you can get a 2013 600+bhp Mustang Cobra. . Benefit of the car is that it is light and the fancy tech inside it. But I got to say, love the classic String Rays.

Yep! I like Chevy porn. I also like the fact that it priced in the low 50's. Didn't think that the new Stingray would come in at such a low price though.

I was actually looking at the new Impala and a Mercedes for the wife... Both high $40k's. I found I do not fit in the Impala (Shocked me and made me upset) only to learn that Mercedes I would buy are in the $50k range... Why not get a Vet... Wife did not flinch... "Raises eyebrow"

My father-in-law and my brother-in-law were at the unveiling earlier this year. Both of them have said that you have to see it in person to believe it. It looks good in pictures, but in person it looks 10x as good. I'm also glad to see that GM isn't resting on their laurels, and that they finally have some talent in the design department again. The last thing they needed was to release another refresh and stamp it with a C7 badge. I'm glad they shook things up and took a chance with a completely new design.

I'd rather have last year's model. This looks like they tried to throw too many influences into one car and ruined it IMO.

Very nice indeed and a lot better than I was expecting. HOWEVER, I hate to say it, but I am disappointed with the engine. With 6.2L of displacement and only 460 hp I am a little underwhelmed. It is fast for sure, but with Ford able to pull 420 hp from the 5.0L Coyote motor, I suppose I was hoping for something along the same lines in horsepower per litre output.....something a little over 500 hp was what I was expecting. Other than that I love the car.

OK OK, I now know what this new Stingray needs.....it needs the engine from a station wagon. In particular, THIS station wagon: What a sweet sounding motor!.....and over 500hp of naturally aspirated goodness. With that kind of power, the new Stingray would be one crazy car.

In fairness they are still working on the Zr1 Stingray variant with the corvette racing team, I'm not allowed to say much but early HP estimates 670ish.

jay leno interviewed the manager Ed Wellburn, and man they put alot of work into it. the tail lights are not that pretty but the design around them has a function. the new LT1 engine is completely new, besides 6.2L it shares very little with the LS engines. it is 450HP 450lbs-ft torque and gets better gas mileage than some 6's do. it has direct injection, CVVT, AFM and a whole bunch of other things. plus the car looks mean. http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/video/first-look-2014-corvette-stingray/n35262

oh yeah for 2014 it will not have camaro tailights since the 2014 camaro had a redesign on the front and rear. http://www.chevrolet.com/2014-camaro-sports-car.html. personally i think chevy is doing a damn good job with their new cars and trucks, the styling is spot on.

I think the rear end is an abomination to corvette history, buts surprisingly its not so bad either. As far as hp, its not all about the numbers. GM is known to underrate their engines. Its quite amazing how much power you get out of these new engines, and they are also insanely good on gas. I'll take a 467hp vette over a 600hp mustang any day. You cannot compare the actual drive between the two.
