I bought this card early June and I've tried Master and Slave bios, side case on and off. I get this loud revving of the fans sometimes, as if its a car engine; even on idle. Also the card has reached up to 90C during games stock settings, it sounds like I have a faulty card?

Sounds like the thermal paste may need to be reapplied.

Is there a particular RPM that makes the loud fan noise? Download Precision XOC and check if you are unsure.

The GPU is running hotter than desired. If you are comfortable replacing the thermal paste then I would go with Sajin's suggestion.

Ive always used Precision XOC, the software shows the fans are on auto and the RPM shows 1937 but the fans are audibly revving like a car engine up and down. I can't even play Overwatch because "the rendering device has stopped working" which usually indicates overheating or a faulty gpu. All my settings are stock and its been happening since day 1.

I would rather have a RMA than apply the paste myself

The GPU changes the colour of the game then crashes the game at what appears to be a reasonable temp? Ive seen the temps go as high at 90C. This GPU is very frustrating.

I would do as Sajin suggests and rma the card.

As a sidenote, there is a new version of PrecisionXOC (v6.1.8) that has some new bugfixes.

I popped in my 1070 SC and my temps sat at 58C where as the 1080 ti was reaching 78C and artifacting/crashing benchmark Unigine Heaven and crashing Overwatch.

Running at those temps shouldn't be crashing or artifacting. Its possible that the higher temps over 90 C that you were experiencing may have caused some degradation and stability issues.

I would recommend going the RMA route at this point since the GTX 1070 SC seems to be working fine. I am sorry for the inconvenience!
