July 18th was step up date. Thought I'd be in step 2 this week since July 10ths step 2 was last week. Guessing next week I'll be in step 2. Will keep you posted.

I was able to Step Up to the SC2 instead of the Black due to stock limitations? Stepped up from an 1080 FTW2.

Here is the email I received:

"I am following up with you in regards to your Step Up request to let you know that EVGA will be upgrading the GTX 1080 TI with the Part Number 11G-P4-6393-KR to the GTX 1080 TI with the Part Number 11G-P4-6593-KR free of charge due to stock limitations. You can find more information about the GTX 1080 TI with the Part Number 11G-P4-6593-KR by going to this page here "

Will they be doing this for all 11G-P4-6393-KR orders going forward?
The SC2 is the card I wanted to step up to, I even called EVGA and they told me they couldn't do it. lol
I hope they do this for me as well. Has anyone else received this happy email?

I'll let you know what I end up getting. Thinking I'll hit step 2 this coming up week. It would be pretty cool to get the SC2 though!

Yeah, wish I knew if I could Step Up to that specific card. It would make my decision about joining the queue so much easier. At least you saved me the trouble of calling or emailing them to ask. I would *very* gladly pay the price differences!

Started step up July 18th. Was thinking for sure I was going to get to step 2 last week, but unfortunately that did not happen. Today marks 2 months so I'm hopeful I'll get the email this week and hit step 2.

When you pay for 2 day shipping and it gets delayed and arrives on the 3rd day :(. EVGA was suppose to get my card yesturday, which would of given me a chance for them to send mine out today and arrive Monday. Unfortunately with them getting my card today, it looks like Wednesday will be the earliest I receive mine (2 day shipping) :(. Doubt they send any out on Saturday. My 7870 will have to do until then.

Re: 1080 Ti SC Black Edition Step Up Thread 2017/09/26 06:19:23 (permalink)
The Tragic thing about this is that they won't let you step up from a 1080 TI Black SC to a 1080 TI SC2. I mean common its like $15 bucks difference. Id even be willing to pay a bit more (hell I even bought the 10 year warranty they offer). Bad enough I had to pay over $50 in shipping to send in my 1080 FTW2 plus the $30 in my original Step-up agreement. I really hope the TI gives me the approximate 30% performance boost I have been reading about. TI wasn't out when I bought my FTW2 so I thought it would push my Preditor X34 well enough....nope. Should have waited but who knew.

I know it sounds like I am ungrateful, but it isn't that, it's that I wish they would have offered the TI RGB versions even if it was at a premium. I went through great expense to go RGB in my box to make it what ever color I was in the mood for but this TI will sadly have to have the LED turned off as I never rarely if ever use white.

"billjansen" You are one lucky Bastard....I R jealous 4 real!

Despite my discontent on the Step-up options this time around I am still a loyal EVGA VC customer. In the end they have always had the best warranty in this industry.

You're actually lucky just being with in range of being able to upgrade as many others weren't.  Now just imagine if you had no options at all.

Use this Associate Code at your checkouts or follow these instructions for Up to 10% OFF on all your EVGA purchases:

I agree with you, to a point. The only thing really stopping me from joining the Step Up party for the 1080 ti is that I can't jump to an SC2 version.  I am happy enough with the 1080 SC2 iCX cards I have now. I am used to them. And I like having the extra sensors that iCX provides.

Cost is not really the issue. I'd happily pay the price difference and any premiums to upgrade.

Today I said farewell to my 1070 FTW2. I dropped it off at UPS, paid them $50 (Yes five-zero it's disgusting) then went about my business. About 20 minutes later I rushed back because I forgot to write the RMA# on the box, duh!

Now I wait for that new, beautiful 1080ti to make it's way here. What the hell am I going to do until then?!

Apparently my card is still on a delivery truck.....

All I now is that I got my refund for shipping, and the card should be delivered today. I have Next Day Air for the new card....which makes me think I'll get it Monday.

EDIT:: "Product Received" on Friday.

So I think there will be an update Wednesday, if not next Friday, with my luck.

Well the issue with my 1080FTW2 was I wasn't quite getting the stable frame rate when a lot was happening on the screen, it would drop 30 or so frames. When I had my 1920 x 1200 res it was not a problem but when I moved to a 3440x1440 it was noticeable, so despite losing all the RGB / ICX bells and whistles everything I read claimed that the 1080 TI would give me back that framerate I lost. Fingers crossed.

Man I gotta tell ya though, hard to be patient when your rig is missing its heart and you have to wait for weeks to get it back.

Card came in. Awesome.

Might get the hybrid kit....even though it's only reaching 66C on Fire Strike and Time Spy.

Anyone after Sept 3?  Last one reported we have is jedediah which just took 3 weeks which is nice.  Wondering if 3 weeks is the norm right now =)

I'm loving it. It's been a long time since I've had a relevant pc gaming rig. It's crazy how much better games like the witcher 3 and shadow of mordor look on pc than even my ps4 pro. PC master race?
