Chiming in as well. Do we need to contact support individually?

Yes, the more reports the better the chance of evga providing an official fix.

.... EVGA please check again or I can gladly make a video for EVGA myself as an investigation. Out of all my years of over clocking I've never seen such an obvious issue like this. Try a different gpu that's the ftw3?

I made a request, but they told me that they could not reproduce the issue.
So they should send me a card, which holds the 127% powerlimit on Slavebios.
I even bought a 10 year warranty extension for this bogues GPU :(

So they are saying it's hardware issue?

The unoffical fix would be to flash the xoc bios to the slave vbios.

It sounds like they will replace your card if you call in and complain. That tells me no fix is coming to those that don't want a different card. I have a good overclocker and I rather not risk getting a poor performer. I just want my card to work as advertised. Just give us an updated vbios from a FTW3 card with a properly working Slave bios. Pretty simple or am I missing something?

And I rather not use an unofficial fix.

This right here. I rather not go through RMA process if it can be helped.

I actually have doubts that replacement will work as promised, most likely you'll go through the whole hassle for nothing.
Is there anyone, anyone at all who can report 127% effective powerlimit on factory slave bios?
Can you post screenshot from XOC with BIOS version, FW, etc.

I have the 1080 Ti FTW3 card, no problems here.

I checked mine and the 1st fan spins up first followed by the 3rd then the 2nd. Running Superposition benchmark my card peaks at 73C.

So, you don't hit a power limit on your card?

This thread is about the FTW3 cards hitting the power limit prematurely, using the slave bios.

bump
Can anyone hitting 127% post their VBIOS version, if you can save it using GPU-Z and post here, that would be even better. Just click that circled button.

Oh noooes... Just ordered the ftw3 12gbps model. I thought I get the high powertarget that is being talked about in all the reviews, now I read about this mess. Product not as advertised?

Can't believe this. Seems to be wide spread. Looked into our german forum Hardwareluxx. Guys reporting the same issue. Can't believe it get's the stamp of "can't reproduce" by EVGA. Well then try harder, it's obviously a thing.

Agree, can we have at least some response from EVGA, before instating return/replacement? Is that really HW problem?

I'm having the same issue with a FTW3 Hydro Copper. Power limit bounces off of 118%. I considered the XOC Bios but would rather use an official bios to avoid voiding warranty.

Agreed. I could have saved money and just bought the SC2 Hybrid. Next purchase, I'll take my money elsewhere.

Remember when Apple responded to antenna-gate by releasing an update that made the signal appear lower all the time, so the signal drop appeared less severe? What if EVGA releases an XOC update that just takes what ever the actual power draw is, and adds 10% to it, citing the new output as evidence the problem is fixed. If they had done that at the beginning, no one would have been the wiser. That's the sad part.

You would laugh at me, but I am a stupid customer at the end of the long chain, believing everything EVGA Support is telling me:
They told me that the power limit is determined by many factors like temperature an power. They cannot reproduce the problem? So, there must be something wrong with my equipment... first I altered the fans to 100% -> (Due to not visible) PLimit drops at 118% instead of 127%... => was not the issue Temps never got higher than 60°C. Then I bought a new PSU with the hope that this will bring me the 127... but no, it seems my old 1000W Unit was not the problem. Last but not least I looked at my mainboard and thought: Some boards do have an additional 4-Pin Molex/IDE Power connector on the Mainboard to feed the hungry GPUs through the PCIe Slot with some more Watts. What if this is the missing 10% ??? Next action: I bought a new Mainboard and gave it a try... no guys this must be a buggy BIOS issue!

Damn that's insane if you did all that to troubleshoot this problem. I think bunch of people got it to 127% with different bios so I assume it's bios issue. It's weird that EVGA is silent on this issue. I would think they would rather just push new bios update instead of replacing cards unless it is hardware issue.

I'm referring to those that flashed it with xoc bios mentioned in this thread. I figure if vbios from another manufacturer gets it to 127%, it is vbios issue. I'm just waiting on some kind of statement/fix from EVGA like a lot of the people on this thread.  For a card that cost $800+, I'd like to make sure that all the features work as advertised.

Since I finally remembered to open my gpu-z I am seeing the same power limits as the rest of you guys. I am kind of new to this so is this a widespread problem or is this pretty much EVGA brand specific?

Welcome to the club.

It seems to be EVGA FTW3 specific, air cooled and water cooled but EVGA can't reproduce it. (sarcasm)

Oh btw, on the new 12Gbps FTW3 variant I had before I returned it because of bad coilwhine I recorded a max of 120% PT... sooo it seems to be fixed on that one. Maybe that bit of information helps. Unfortunately providing the bios of that card wouldn't be a wise idea since the card is using these new memory chips. So it's vbios would most definitely make your card unstable or even not bootable at all.

A +500 offset would be a mild overclock for some.
