Paid for my step up today, had the email in my inbox since thursday but since we have had easter holidays this weekend, I paid today in hopes to get an RMA email tomorrow after they verify my payment.

Both cards just changed to received. YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!

Question for you folks: Should I upgrade to a 7700k (would go with a silicon lottery 5.2 ghz delidded from my 4.8 ghz 6700k) or wait for coffee lake which is supposed to be a 1151 chip as well? Only reason I ask is because I have my loop torn apart already anyways. Money isn't really a concern, but I don't really want to upgrade to Kaby only to have Coffee come out in 4-6 months, be an lga 1151 socket and grossly outperform Kaby with 6 cores as well.

*this is more about me talking it out than actually asking, but would be curious to get others' thoughts.

Sounds like you already have quite the butt-kicking system. May as well wait so when you do spend your money it's a more substantial upgrade.

ps: I've already paid for my 1080ti stepup and haven't even received the physical 1080 SC2 card that I'm stepping up from yet. It'll arrive tomorrow, and I'll immediately drive it back to the post office and drop it off as the return for this step up. The 1080 SC2 may not even make into my house. :-)

Just got my hands on step-up Ti. UPS arrived at about 9.30, wow.

Cardbox is like 30% smaller and lighter than 1080FTW. LOL 30% smaller for 30% more power. I like the idea very much.

Will test it some time later. Not really in any rush. Tore my calf few days ago and I can barely move around anyway...

Normally, when you receive your Step Up card...you are urged to remove the card that you sent in.  You can do that by simply pressing "Unregister Product"  If you had purchased an extended warranty with the original card, it is transferred over to the new, replacement card.  Really simple at that.  Your original card will is now the property of EVGA and they will most likely use for RMA purposes or B Stock.  Enjoy the new card.

You mean beer right? Just for the record: never ever. Smell of alcohol makes me

Testing will involve slot-in and 2 minutes on to check if signal is up. New build has been pushed for at least two months. So frustrating, but especially now I know for about a month I will walk like a WWI war veteran on three legs (I experienced something like that before).

And who knows what X299 or more importantly rumored X399 will bring. To be honest X99 as a chipset annoys me a bit by now and want the to phase it out for number crunching alone.

This is my thought too. Plus, if Coffee Lake ends up not being an lga 1151 socket, then I imagine Kaby Lake will go on sale toward the end of the year.

Update:

United States
1. Requested - March 31st
2. Approved/Paid - April 7th
3. Shipped 1080 iCX - April 8th
4. Received 1080 Ti - April 17th

Thank you EVGA! I bought a 980 Ti Classified and stepped up to a 1080 ACX 3.0 (base model). Purchased the 1080 iCX upgrade, and now I'm stepping up to a 1080 Ti. Seriously, what other company would do that?

Beast mode unlocked! (3DMark's it's over 9000...again! told me so) She's not a top overclocker like my 1080 ACX 3.0 (base model) was, but even at 2063MHz she's 20 to 30% faster. Not bad at all for a $77 dollar upgrade.

I'd already progressed to step 5 in the 1080ti stepup queue before the SC2 upgrade was even in my possession. It arrived yesterday, and I immediately drove it over to the post office and shipped it straight back to EVGA. I never even opened the shipping box, much less then card box itself. If they receive it tomorrow my 1080ti FE should be in the mail back to me on Friday.

An EK Titan X Pascal water block (nickel/plexi) should be at my house tomorrow.

United States
1. Requested - 4/6
2. Approved/Paid - 4/7
3. iCX 1080 FTW2 (x2) shipped to EVGA - 4/10
4. EVGA received iCX 1080 FTW2 (x2) - 4/13
5. 1080Ti FE (x1) shipped out - 4/14
6. 1080Ti FE (x1) received  - 4/18

So I'm still waiting on a Ti FE for a week now, but otherwise the step up (and icx upgrade) was very fast.

Re: 1080 TI FE Step Up Thread 2017/04/19 19:58:23 (permalink)
Got the notification from UPS yesterday that my 1080 Ti shipped, and low and behold I got an email from EVGA that my new card was registered to my account.  They received my ICX card on Monday (still sealed in plastic) so I am pretty impressed with their turn around.  Seems to be a bummer that they don't just let ICX upgrades go straight for a 1080 Ti instead of the receiving and re-sending but I guess it's more work for them since their system isn't already set up for it.

Not complaining.  My new card gets here Monday.  Gonna be a long weekend.

You shouldnt be registering your card if it is from step up. Evga should do that for you. Look at your "my products" page and if it isnt there, ask support to register it for you.

We're into the final stretch now! I didn't even break the seal on my FTW2 before I had it shipped out. Going to be pretty disappointed with that expensive shipping charge I had to eat if they don't get it out of the door by the weekend.

Well, did it..

Got approved Monday 4/17, shipped out my card 4/20, 2-day; and return should be 2-day too.. so we'll see...

Man it was hard saying goodbye to that 1080 Classified...

Knowing my luck, since I pulled the trigger on it today - a SC or a 1080Ti with ICX will likely be added tomorrow :P

Well I see it's on the way now thanks to an email from UPS. I'm thankful they didn't sit on it, but one nitpick that's really going to bug me if it's not here by Wednesday:

I paid to have it shipped 'Worldwide Express Saver'(1-3 days), and I see it's been pushed out using 'Worldwide Expedited' (2-5 days).

Anyone else had this happen? While I'm keeping score, I also had the wrong size shirt sent to me with the FTW2.

Re: 1080 TI FE Step Up Thread 2017/04/22 00:53:12 (permalink)
Got my 1080ti FE today. I have to say I am very impressed with the process. I went from a 1080 FTW to the ICX FTW2 to the 1080ti.

All in all since I did the cheapest ground shipping it cost me half of what I would have spent if I had to sell my old card. I bought my 1080 way back in November, so the fact I stepped up in April to a 1080ti is amazing, it will greatly increase the time I need to upgrade considering I game on a 60hrtz 1440p panel.

Process took about a month. It was basically a whole business week worth of shipping each way (Illinois to Cali and back) for both upgrades. So 4 weeks and I am all set. I was especially impressed that EVGA auto registered the ICX upgrade as soon as it shipped so I could get in the Step up Queue ASAP. My step up was approved before my card ever got back.

Overall thanks EVGA!!!
