Re: 1080 TI FE Step Up Thread 2017/03/23 20:33:50 (permalink)
I'm thinking they got a fair number of FE 1080ti cards in to parcel out to the step-up list, and that they have probably received a bunch of the step-up list cards in by UPS yesterday and today.  It will probably take them a couple of days at least to open, inspect and test the cards.  They got mine this morning at ~11:00, their time.  Still shows 'pending' on the My Products page.

I'm going to have to call them and get an extension on the 14 days for the second of my cards, because there is no way I'll get the new card back from them and then pack up and ship my second card so that they will receive it within the 14 days.  Shipping from near Chicago to EVGA took from last Thursday evening until this morning.  Of course, it spent about 50 hours sitting in the Hodgkins, IL UPS facility over the weekend.  I think it was then loaded onto the back of an old, slow snail for it's trip out to California.

This is the first time in the years I've been buying EVGA cards that I've been able to take advantage of the step-up program.  It's just difficult being patient about going through the process for two cards.  I hope the new 1080ti cards offer an increase in performance large enough to make the step-up worth the effort.  My two 1080 Classified cards were really good cards!  I did some thinking and had some hesitation over doing the step-up, but the price of the new cards is the same as I paid for the Classifieds, so it's only costing me the shipping.  It's costing me about $35 per card to ship them back to EVGA and then there's the ~$22 shipping from EVGA.

I just hope that old snail doesn't expire before this process is over!

FYI, your step up page won't update that it has been shipped until 6 or 7 pm PST, their closing time at the very earliest. Even if they shipped your card early this morning. Mine didn't show up till the next day at about 11am EST/9am PST. And I didn't get my email that it had shipped til about 2 hours after that. So I wouldn't fret too much just yet.

What you can do is make a UPS account then sign up for The MyChoice account (free if you don't use any of the paid services) then enter your shipping address and click the alerts button and check the boxes for alert me for everything, i.e. Shipping receipt notifications, arrival and departure scans. Then pick either your email address or phone number or both for the alerts and you will get updates From UPS as soon as it ships or has already shipped. I got my alert that mine had shipped around 3pm EST/ 12PM PST. Long before EVGA's page updated the next day and the email from them a couple hours later.

Wish that was the case right now. Its almost 9PM PST right now. And no email or Step Up page update yet.

I also get updates from UPS when there are packages incoming.

But i hope i am wrong and just being overly impatient.

Well then everything moved so fast in my case.

Submitted first step on the 13th of March

Got steps two and three today. Already submitted my invoice prior.

Now I'm at the payment screen and wondering if I should wait to see if they add any at all of the ICX cards to step up or just follow through with it. I still have 52 days of step up left.

Ahhh no idea what to do

Intrikate, if you have time on your step-up, I would wait. EVGA actually released the 1080ti on my last day of my step-up[10th]. The FE is a good card, but it's possible they could add another model or two. Normally, it won't be the top end one like FTW, or Classy. I would guess a couple weeks longer, maybe a month. Then again, I could be wrong..it did happen once.

I had submitted my invoice in advance before I ever did the step up, so that's probably why. :)

What do you mean? Is submitting invoice in advance a problem?

I was responding in regards to another person who had stated he was still waiting on approval for his invoice and I had already been approved because I submitted mine long before I did my step up registration. Not a bad thing at all.

I do think it's a little ridiculous that EVGA is making EU users wait this long without any sort of update while the US is already getting new cards in the mail. I'm sorry man, I hope they start pushing EU through soon.

Very good idea... I just signed up with UPS.

My card was received yesterday... still shows pending, I'm hoping for a shipment today... but based on the trend of the last 2-3 days I'm expecting it to ship Mon or Tues.

How often does evga get their stock resupplied with 1080TIs FE?

I'm now deciding on whether or not to ship back my 1080 classified overnight or 2nd day air (when i actually get to step 4)
I wish I wasn't so impatient.

Anyone know of any good AIO coolers for the 1080Ti FE? I don't think the stock cooler is going to be keeping the card cool enough. It will be my first gpu that is water cooled. Btw I don't know how to set up water loops so that's why I'm wondering.

If there aren't any pre assembled AIO solutions for the 1080Ti, are there any all in one kits available? I have no idea where to even start with buying parts. I only have 1 other part that is water cooled and it's my CPU with a corsair h110i gtx AIO which was super easy to install.

You might save a few dollars and do 2nd day to return your card.  Oftentimes, it will take a full day for your card to show up as received (depends on how heavy a load they are dealing with at EVGA).  Then...another day to turn around and send your new card back.

I hate to be blunt, but you all have to be patient. Everyone in EU. YES this is normal. Yes, it has always been like this. EVGA'S packaging plant is in California, so on release day the cards hard to be shipped from California to Europe. That takes time. The cards are sent on freight ships, so it isnt a fast process. It usually takes 2 to 3 weeks after US receives them before EU has them in stock.

Is it frustrating.. sure. EVGA isnt a big company like ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE, or the other companies that have plaves all over that can do everything. EVGA hasnt forgot about you. Every single time there is a release, folks have to explain this to EU customers. Give them a little more time and cards will start shipping.

How often does evga get their stock resupplied with 1080TIs FE?

I'm now deciding on whether or not to ship back my 1080 classified overnight or 2nd day air (when i actually get to step 4)
I wish I wasn't so impatient.

You might save a few dollars and do 2nd day to return your card.  Oftentimes, it will take a full day for your card to show up as received (depends on how heavy a load they are dealing with at EVGA).  Then...another day to turn around and send your new card back.

You know what, I'm definitely going to save a few and go with 2nd  air. It's not like I can make it go faster at the warehouse or at EVGA or anything.

Check with USPS priority.  I sent my cards Monday USPS priority.  1 box with both cards was $28 plus $1000 insurance was another $14 this was from North Dakota to California.  Priority was 2 day shipping and my cards arrived on Wednesday.

Wow that's a really good deal! I just sent back my defectiv3 1080 classified through UPS (this one is for an RMA) and with insurance ground shipping costed me $40. If I can  save money just by going with a different carrier, I will. I'll definitely check. Thank you!

Re: 1080 TI FE Step Up Thread 2017/03/24 07:57:49 (permalink)
Received my iCX upgrade Wednesday, opened the parcel Thursday to register the serial number on the box (EVGA didn't do it automatically as stated on the website). Was going to put in the iCX upgrade while I wait for my step-up to 1080 TI FE and realised I received a faulty card... There were two screws missing making the cooler hang loose of the card.

EVGA is sending me those two screws so I can use the card while I wait for the step-up, but those screws will arrive next week. No gaming this weekend for me :'(

Of course they have an initial batch and some cards form not completed orders for !!selling!!. But not for step up. Im in a same situation like you. Check it from the other side, you wait let say a 1-1,5 month for the new card what is sucks. But you forget something, you can sell your card for bucks and losing a lots of money like 30% of the original price , and buying a new one if you find it in the shop's. In my case i just brought a 1080 because the speculation told not much upgrade will be the TI. When it turned out this will be an awesome card and the price drop. I lost in a best case scenario 100-150 euro immediately from the selling price. Im glad evga is having this option, and i spare myself ruffly 100+ euro . You always have the options, You can cancel the stepup , sell the card buy it from stock if you cant wait patiently. Rush is always cost more money. That's you can buy the card from the store its a good sign :) soon we will get it too. Mid April  or start of May.

EVGA typically has cards set aside for step up, and card set aside to sell. Just because you havent processed through the step up doesn't mean you were first in line. When someone that is posting in the forums comes up on the list, they will post, but not everyone in queue is posting here.
