1070 Ti FTW2 LED - Permanently off option?

Hi,
 
My apologies, but I posted this in the wrong forum.
 
I am able to turn off the LED lights via EVGA LED Sync with XOC app, but when the computer wakes from sleep, the lights come back on. 
 
How do you turn off the lights permanently?

    Disconnect the led cable from the pcb header on the card, or electrical tape over the lights.

    RGB LEDs -- set them to Black
