way2faded soooo.. how is it?
It was released at 2am my time and it took 3 hours to download and patch, so I was fast asleep. I've played with it all of 5 minutes so far. Will be able to have seat time with it tonight.

Goping to download when I get home, hopefully I will get a chance to try it out tonight. I know EVGATech_JaesonW will also be trying it. There are a few of us who are really looking forward to trying it. FYI, as of now, there is no SLI/Xfire support, but they are aware there is issues and they stated they are working on it.

I feel the same way. It drives me nuts that the mouse causes pitch/yaw on top of targeting, but controls are obviously still a work in progress.

I haven't gotten to play it yet as much as I like since my Logitech Extreme Pro is having issues and I've spent more time tinkering with it's guts than playing. But from the little I've tried, I like it so far. Not a fan of k/m either, it's really finicky feeling, and the one time I actually tried the Vanduul Swarm mode with it I bugged out and couldn't see my shots. The radar is practically useless, so I hope they change that up soon. Other than that, it's awesome zipping around and through things in Free Flight. Hopefully I'll get my twist problem worked out on my stick today and get some serious flight time in on Vanduul Swarm finally.

There is a thread in the hardware sub-forums on the SC forums that works through custom controller mapping xml. Not sure if that'll help, but there is a lot of detail in it.

Nice, I'll have to check that out. I do know for a fact that the twist potentiometer is catching on the cord though, so I've got to figure that out first. Probably going to pick up a Thrustmater T.Flight HOTAS tonight, Microcenter has them for $30 and it looks better than my Logitech. The mapping should be useful though either way. Thanks!

Alright, I picked up the T.Flight tonight and gave it a spin. Actually having full control of my ship helped a bit, but having the yaw on the x-axis still threw me. I'm too used to Wing Commander/Privateer/etc., instead of in-atmosphere flight. I Looked up the xml files on the RSI forums, and found one to swap roll to the z-axis and yaw to x-axis. Here's the directions if anyone else wants them, just scroll down to Controls for the file and how to load it from the console: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/137191/arena-commander-reported-issue-workarounds-faq#latest . Once that was in place, I was flying much better! Rather than floundering around barely able to hit a Vanduul for 10 minutes, I finished the first wave in just under 5, and I was blasting around asteroids with ease like I was Han Solo. I can confirm that SLI is a no-go, my 760s artifact horribly. Thankfully even on Very High @ 1440 it runs well on a single 760. I haven't checked my framerate yet, but I haven't felt the need to either so I consider that a win. On a side note, if you need a good, cheap HOTAS, I rather like the T. Flight. It's got a bit of a dead zone it seems, but I'm adjusting to that. Other than that, it's quite responsive. Overall I'm happy with it for only $30, and heartily recommend it if you don't have a HOTAS yet and don't know if you want to shell out north of $100 for a quality HOTAS. I'm eyeballing an x55 for either my birthday or christmas, but until then this will do.

You have to login to patch but currently most players are doing the single player free flight and Vanduul Swarm dogfight modes. They're slowly adding people to multi-player option but it's not available for most yet.

I struggled with the controls for a while (because of mouse and pitch or yaw, whichever it's tied to). Trying to aim is a pita! It seems as though it's far too sensitive when you get to the outside of what I would call a sort of dead zone for the mouse. I'm either moving too slowly or WAY too quickly haha. It is fun though. I'm sure if they offered a sensitivity setting, which I'm sure they'll add in the future, I'd be a lot better off. If the mouse only controlled up/down and left/right, I'd be having a much better time.

Yep, Vanduul Storm is single player mode with two map options. You can use XBOX 360 controller.

Yall and Pan, feel more like a point and shooter, heck, Xwing had better controls, and didnt feel this arcade_ish.... Is there some settings I miss? Right now, Im glad I didnt spend more than the $80 I did spend, Glad I didnt spent the cash that some did!

And 4Horseman takes TNGS. No surprise because of better presentation. My guess is both ships will be in game though. And no theme issues because one is Origin other is Aegis.
