Setting up the stats system so Troy can get his portion set up and I've found one entrant that doesn't have any points yet under the EVGA team name, 'logista', so, PLEASE get at least a WU or two folded so I can ensure you are entered into the system so I can start tracking you! Thanks! d

Apologies to everyone. I've not been able to get my rig up and running in time for this (funnily enough, I found the Obsidian 900D a bit small for my build.!!!) Very disappointed to miss out but just so much going on atm. Good luck everyone.

Is it possible to get your rig up and running perhaps a little late or not? Mine is down due to a bad D5 pump, and also a bad back up pump. I hope to make it on start date, just depends on when I get replacement. Like Bcav said, it's still good to hear from you either way. :)

troy8d As signups have slowed and we are nearing the end of the sign up period its time to start thinking about how the teams breakdown.
- EM vs CPO would be the most competitive breakdown at 47.7M vs 48.1M - it is only a 2 way race but also has 2 amusing acronyms (not the ones I used).
I like this idea (EM vs 3CPO) because it is well balanced and should end up in a close race. It's sad to lose the individual identities of the time zones, but as we have found before, handicapping or other artificial balancing techniques are a rathole. bcavnaugh Yep! MOP 56 Eastern Time (US) 57 Central Time (US) 50
For anyone who didn't understand this, I believe it means (with added data): MOP 56 people, 31.6M ppd Eastern Time (US) 57 people, 35.6M ppd Central Time (US) 50 people, 26.5M ppd

Well Mountain is running under Eastern so it no longer really matters. That is we are now on the same team so I cannot dog on you anymore.

It's possible I might make it in time to see the finish-line crossed. It will be two Titan X Ps and a 6950X, will this be enough to change the team balance? Can BadBertie alter the course of history at the last minute? I dunno, but I'll give it a crack. I haven't yet got round to cutting and bending my solid tubing but if I throw in some bendy stuff that will save a bit of time. It won't be pretty mind. Does anyone know the ppd of the Titans?

Hey BadBertie... it's good to see you here and it would be very nice if you can join us! The average PPD of a Titan X(P) is ~1.2 Million, so ~2.4 Million for both cards.

I would say yes. For sure the GTX 780 has some decent folding life left in it (I would fold it if I had it). The 690 may or may not be worth folding on to people, but if that's the case I've seen people put older GPUs to use for a large number of non-folding related reasons.

There are cards as old as the 660, 560s, 460s, and even a GT 430 listed on the prize site, s those cards are well above the limit for the bargain bin.

I've never participated in a time zone challenge before.
First, how do I estimate how many PPD I can produce?
What I make on my desktop varies with the time of year/outside temps and how much gaming I want to do (A quad core Xeon Haswell and a 970, limited to 80C). The desktop also has a 750 Ti that I use to game and surf while the 970 folds. I find that if both GPUs fold, the PPD drops, apparently due to cooling airflow conflicts. (Server case)
I also have my travel gaming laptop, with a 940MX w/ GDDR5 and an i5-6200U, and a cooling fan desk thing the laptop sits on. I've never folded on it.
