Question regarding rules: Eligible Hardware:- Any hardware you fold on for the contest must be personally owned by you.
Adding additional hardware that you own (especially if you will fold on it full time) is both permitted and encouraged. So the question is, can I/ am I allowed to run another machine weekends only? OR if I start it does it need to run full time from inception of starting it? I will assume if I start it, it needs to run the duration of the challenge. Just wanted some clarification, then again figuring out the PPD would be a challenge too. And this thread needed to go to the top anyway.............

I am not the ruler of all things folding, but the 2nd sentence tells you all you need to know. The exception is full time is not mandatory. A close PPD number is needed so we can make the contest teams as fair as possible.

One of the main ideas behind the contest (beside having some good-natured fun) is to increase our folding output, so generally anything that increases our folding as a team is encouraged. You are not required to fold 24/7 for the contest, and we encourage you to fold what you are able and nothing more. If you know that you will only be able to run some hardware on certain days, simply adjust your PPD estimate to reflect that.

Thank you for the clarification and I will adjust PPD if I decide to go this direction. Pretty much asking since my 970s are sitting idle waiting for parts. Unsure of ETA on not only the parts but the time to build a system to run them in. I'm close, really really close..............

If you're unsure if they'll be up and running for the contest I wouldn't include them in your PPD estimate.

As signups have slowed and we are nearing the end of the sign up period its time to start thinking about how the teams breakdown. - EM vs CPO would be the most competitive breakdown at 47.7M vs 48.1M - it is only a 2 way race but also has 2 amusing acronyms (not the ones I used).
- E v CP v MO would be 35.6M v 32.7M v 27.4M, but not as competitive
- A straight up race E v C v M v P and dividing up O would not be very competitive but was the original TZC format.
Anyone have any preferences or other suggested breakdowns?

I would personally like the closest race with the most balanced teams as possible, as it would make for a fun race for all and not most.

fun and fair sounds best to be. Expanded Memory Vs 3CPO sounds good to me. I'm up for anything as long as cancer is crushed!

I'd like to donate some money to the time zone having a hard time submitting a card payment. not sure on how this goes about. I have the quest about folding and driver updates( if can point me in the right direction). update my drivers and lost GPU folding is there either a fix or updated driver or do I have to convert back to older version?

Are you wanting to donate an amount for a gift such as a Paypal amount or Amazon gift card for a prize? Or are you wanting to pitch into the GPU donor pool? If adding a prize or gift amount click on the gift donation and fill it out. If donating to GPU pool, fill out info and DutchForce will contact you for payment info. Either way thank you!
