Where the hell is jacob or somebody else from EVGA. they are just ignoring us involving this thing I havent seen them adress our concerns and problems.

I already replied on this earlier.

There already is a 3rd party unofficial BIOS floating around that has changes to allow for higher voltages, obviously this is not exactly endorsed by EVGA.

We are working on releasing an "official" EVGA version that more or less has the same update, but because of some limitations/restrictions, there are some roadblocks with actually releasing it. We are still working out the full details.

Once I have an update I will post here.

Welcome back Jacob.

Will EVGA honor all warranties on our card if we use a non-EVGA BIOS on the 780 TI Classified? Hopefully we'll get a chance to chat next week.

I am more worried about this than the run of the mill answer we have been getting for weeks now.

This whole ordeal has me extremely worried,  and I have 24 hours until I finally get to my cards.. At this point,  I feel I should return them,  take the hit for the "free"  games,  the hit for restocking,  and move on.  This may be my personal opinion,  but when you get so many RMAs in that you have problems sending out equipment,  then shipping of new units should halt and the customers that are taking the biggest hit get priority,  instead of stacking more people on the pile.

I recently switched companies  after hearing about the amazing service and support.   I bought 2x 760 SC ACX 4GB cards and was happy,  but wanted the best.  I decided to skip out on buying MSI products that were on hand and waited for the Ti Classified,  and now I want nothing more than my money back.  I haven't even unboxed my cards,  and this just seems like a nightmare.

My question isn't about the BIOS fix..  My question is,  what are you going to do for your customers after you are allowed to fix it? After seeing many companies,  and even the kingpin,  come with backplates, it seems that that would be at least one thing you could do.   It's simple and shows you care a little.

I purchased mine,  and it seems soon I will have two backplates and no cards.   This is just consideration for all of the other customers that have been left out in the rain.  I hope you all pull a miracle out quick,  because if the cards I have make it to the post office,  I will sell 760s as well,  and I will go elsewhere.   I am not putting over $2000 out there and being left in the dark.

Look's like I found the limit of me' first Ti Classified. No shutdowns here. Using Win 8.1, Skynet BIOS, EVBOT, Valley in a 2560x1440 windows maxed out on a 4K monitor.
So, she will do 1306 MHz at 1.212v, 1472 MHz at 1.4v (with some artifacting), it took up to 1.475v to get rid of almost all the artifacting, then 1.5v got me 1502 MHz. At 1515 MHz, she gave up the goose! 1.5v is the limit of my comfort, but I should be able to get a 1502 MHz Valley run to pass once I get my CPU tuned in.

BTW my Kill-A-Watt was showing my 780Ti classified was using ~460 watts after rest of system load was deducted.

GPU: 4-Way SLI GTX Titan's (1202 MHz Core / 3724 MHz Mem) with EK water blocks and back-plates

MB: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme with EK full board water block

Congrats. So 1.3ghz, is that with sky bios and software voltage tool? Curious what your ASIC score is using GPU-Z, can you post? Many say it doesn't mean much but just curious about the card you got from EVGA as a replacement..

Let me state a small fact of life.   I have the Classies in the trunk of my girlfriends car,  and no damn computer to test them in.   Looking for minor suggestions.   I have decided that if they at least work without coil whine,  I will keep them and use Skynet at least.

The suggestion I am looking for...  Where could I take them to get them tested.   I don't trust geek squad honestly. I will be in Orlando Florida.

Well I think its known that rma only works if you can return the item as it was bought ....so if you smoke the card and cant fire it up to load the original bios back  the rules say that its your brick.

But if you can somehow return it as it was bought same bios and cooler it was shipped with then you should have no problem with rma.

Here ya go...
http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=2054255&high=gtx+780+Ti+classified+bios&mpage=2  --  post 38 & 39

That thread covers a Reference 780 Ti that only has one bios but if Jacob said it would be ok as long as you flashed it back to the original bios then it should not void your warranty on any card as long as you flash it back to the bios it was shipped with. I searched for an hour trying to find the thread where it was talked about flashing the 780 Classified and Jacob along with another EVGA employee both said it was ok to do so. Your best bet would be to PM Jacob directly and have him come to this thread and answer your question. He will do that if you ask him. I have pointed him to a certain thread before to help a member and he came through no problem.

I definitely would not take them to the Geek Squad!! No way :0
If I lived in Orlando I would gladly test them for you on my bench rig. One at a time and then in SLI to make sure the connectors were good on both cards.
I take it you are in the service? My step-son is a Marine and was in Okinawa his last 2 years. He is now inactive and in college.
If there is anything I can do to help please let me know.

I JUST bought a Classified and got it, I cannot seem to find what the exact issue is or any explanation on dual bios. I assume the dual bios works like my mobo as in there's no benefit to running 1 over the other? Also what is this bios issue?

I've tried both the new EVGA and Sky's updated BIOS. Same result. Driver crashes with settings that worked perfectly fine on the stock LN2 bios. Even uninstalled and reinstalled drivers to be sure. Something's messed up.

Re: any word on 780 ti classified bios fix 2014/01/30 22:11:16 (permalink)
hi new user of the forum i just got my gtx 780 ti classified. i got chris to email me the new evga stabilized bios update. but i still cant get it to over clock stably at all! not even a little bit for the clock speeds but the memory can go up to 7840 mhz which is good. also has anyone else gotta any acx type evga card with a really bad fan wine? i talked to customer support they said wait a little and see if it just breaks in and go away on its own. and is there a better bios i can find from a third party?
