T hose who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way. Affiliate Code: 3T15O1S07G

Forum Feedback

I did not see a forum dedicated to issues with the website so though I would post them here. I run Opera but most of the problems persist in Internet Explorer as well. First was the inability to post or input any data except in search box or login. I resolved this by reporting Opera as Internet Explorer. (Works fine in IE) Second. Links in "stickies" lead back to All forums page, not to individual thread. I have tried to fix this counter-intuitively by disabling refferer and automatic redirection, but the problem persists (happens in both browsers) (After clicking other links in posts that do work, it is either just stickys need updating, or problem with URL= tags. Third. Error console shows about 50 bad lines of code per page, mostly syntax errors, but a handful of text overflow and unexpected end of file errors, all related to CSS. There are a couple of errors related to browser choice (which looking at them seems like they would affect Mozilla users as well) and a single JS stacktrace error. I normally do not have error console opening so they do not bother me, but they may help point to other problems. I have a bug to report. Whenever I subscribe to a thread selecting Don't get email notifications and the I post on that thread, my subscription gets removed. Any way to fix this? As it is really annoying re-subscribing after every post. Thank you. P.S. New forums rock btw! Kudos to you Shane and anyone else who contributed to making these amazing forums. EVGA FTW! TaintedShirt Shane, just noticed that sometimes text is obscured by a blue ribbon. I think this is an example from Babyballa's thread "thinking of learning a C language" Yeah I know about that - it's on the burner.

Do I need to select something in the user Settings for me to be able to see the attachment I put in a post? I have used it twice... Both times after posting, it shows an attachment box stating there is one..... No pic and no link?

first you upload then you attach, there must be a "attachment=0" in the post so you can see the pic! if you upload and no attach it and dont see the "attachment=0" your post will show that there´s an attachment to your post but you wont be able to see the pic

Once you upload the attachment, there will be a button before you post it that you can click on. Click on that to put your image in, then post. We're trying to track down the reason for the broken thumbnails still.

Say shane, don't know if it's been suggested yet (and i'm too damn lazy right now to search through 8+ pages of this thread to find out), but how about a function in the user control panel that lets us choose how we get notified about support tickets ? I find it slightly annoying that i get at least 2 emails every time i report some TOS violation, and i'd like to be able to either turn off said notifications, or have them sent as PM's instead

Ziggy, tried reading the announcement at the top of that forum ? To access the marketplace you must: - Have more than 50 posts
- Mouse over "Member List" in the forum menu
- Select "User Groups"
- Click "Apply"
- If you don't see apply, see step 1
It is not necessary to PM to remind me, I check the applications many times a day.

Or you get one when you submit a ticket and one when it's complete? I don't think I can change the option to go to PM's. Tickets in general you want to make an email notification just in case you're having forum problems.

For at least a couple weeks I haven't been receiving all of my email notifications to replies to topics I'm subscribed to. I'm only getting notifications for about 1 out of every 5 subscriptions, and which subscription I am notified of seems to change once I've visited the topic. I've monkeyed around with removing my subscriptions and re-adding them. I'd like it to work the way it did for me in the old forums - that is, I subscribe to a topic. When a reply is made, it sends me an instant email notification, but only for the first reply made until I visit that topic again. Once I visit the topic again, it re-sets the counter and will once again send me a notification when a reply is made. Attached is a screenshot of my settings in my user control panel. Is this a common issue with the new forums? It worked great with the old forums. Edit: I notice the attachment shows a big red X, but clicking on it shows the picture in IE 8. In Firefox 3.5.5, it indicates there is an attachment, but just shows an empty area Edit Part 2: Figured out the attachment problem, hope I can remember the trick for future use (as stated earlier in this thread, after uploading the attachment, you then click on the listed picture, which will put an [attachment=x] tag in your post, which you can then move to where you want it to show up in your post.
