sorry to see that but it will get fixed like new ask for oem parts period

as for chasing after some for a tag and returning back to the one you hit  do not do that it called leaving the scene of a accident
I should know I was driving a 91 f150 with a wood bed when some one wearing head phones just pushed me over into a telephone pole the whole side of truck was messed up

I had a witness come back after chasing that guy for a tag to tell the officer I was not at fault otherwise reckless driving ticket would have been mine if the witnesses haven't stayed and come back with info which sucks in tampa fl period

glad you are okay

If you rear end someone, you're always at fault, whether someone cut the person ahead of you off or not. It means you were following to closely. Pretty simple really.

And it sounds like your anti-lock brakes kicked in, if you had diminished braking power.

Honestly, this is probably the best way you could have totaled your car, given your clearly demonstrated lack of brains recently. Count yourself lucky.

Being that everyone was okay, your real problem now is what has happened to the value of the car. Even once fixed, it will never be the same. The car will be shown as wrecked on CarFax.  When you drive a new car off the lot is when you take your biggest depreciation, now it's depreciated more.  Depending on how much you put down, I would take a gander and say you are probably seriously upside down at the moment.

I would hope it's totaled, especially if the airbags went off. My guess is that would indicate frame damage.

Wait a minute, they put you at fault? What? That's BS. I would fight the hell out of that.

Did you or the person you hit get the license plate number of the car that cut you off? Because if you did, they are at fault for an illegal lane change, failing to yield to oncoming traffic, among other things.

[Edit]: You and your friend could have sued big time for that faulty airbag. Not sure if you have thought of that yet.

Nah, She left pretty fast.

I'm not looking to sue anyone, That's Americanism at it's finest. I just want my car to be fixed.

Well if you could catch her then you could get your car fixed from her insurance agency. That's if she is insured. My sister had a hit and run happen to her 4 months ago. Pisses me off man that people do that. A lot of the Mexican illegals like to hit and run here in Texas.

If you get hit and run, and get their license plate, here in Cali your insurance will pay for it and your insurance rates won't go up (as long as you have uninsured motorist).

[Edit]: Rush, you should have went after her and got her license plate, then went back to the car you hit. It's what I would have done. When I got hit, it was my first thought (get license plate).

Never ever leave the scene of an accident. You're screwed if you get charge for hit and run.

The only thing I learn out of all of this is that I'd get a good resolution wide angle dashcam.

I always appreciate hearing from you, we can't all afford nice things.

Some day...

You're one of the reasons why I keep posting what happens to me. =P

Anyways, As for OEM parts, If I end up fixing it myself to avoid future insurance increases, I will change to an RTR front end, Which is a bit more expensive, But I was going to do it anyways... So this gives me an excuse for that.

Your insurance is going to go up no matter what if you use your insurance (unless it's a hit and run and you have uninsured motorist).

WTH?

I'm on Ford.com looking for OEM parts to see how much I'd pay, As compared to the $1,800 + Hood + Support

The bumper cover itself (One of the 4 things that was damaged) is only $120 for the 2015! O_o

My uncle works at a body shop, He told me if I buy the parts, He'd fix it for me at no charge, Painted and all :)

I just removed the radiator cover and was astonished to how little damage it had...

It truly does look worse than what it is. The fender is pushed back because of the radiator support, Not damaged at all... The only thing needs replacing is the bumper cover (Not even the chin spoiler needs replacement) radiator support and grilles.

Headlights are what scared me a bit, Because they cost so much on these cars.... $1,300~ a set. But only one of them is scratched and my uncle said he can fix that.... So it won't be too expensive.

On the other hand, I have a body shop that won't charge me the deductible as long as I take them my business.

The only factor here is the insurance increase.

Did you report this to the insurance company or no? Because if not, the car will never show up as being in an accident. Also make sure your uncle does it right, or it will be blatantly obvious that it was wrecked in the future. If you have to, pay for the better clear coat as well. Don't want the front right of your car to be peeling while the rest is fine haha.

I seen that in the pictures Rush. When you see the doors and other sheet metal tweaked out of shape like that, I would bet the sub frame is bent. Your uncle would be able to fix it if he has a full service shop.

You should buy your uncle something nice if he will do the labor for free. Take him out for lunch or give his wife a gift card to his favorite restaurant. I would use the money you save to upgrade the disc brakes for more stopping power.

Wilwood is amazing as well. With ST and Aekbono you pay an arm and a leg for the name as well as Brembo (which notoriously eats pads for breakfast lunch and dinner).

Good news is seems no one got hurt. Cars though dear to us are fairly easy to fix or replace.

(edited to correct auto-correct spelling issue: yes I typed sued and somehow ended-up with suede?)

Depending on the state your in; you may still have to deal with the other driver for some time - years before you are in the clear about being sued for personal injury.

You should get a lawyers advice.  Probably best to plead your ticket; go to court and plead "No contest".  As paying the fine is basically the same as guilty, if the other drive decides they got hurt and go after a settlement.  With a "No contest" plead you still pay the fine; just a defensive move, as you are not admitting guilt or fault.

You should take a defensive driving class; most States require the insurance co. to give a 10% discount for 3 years on parts of your policy.  Besides it may give you more incites to future traffic scenarios that may save your bacon in the future.

The cut off person is the kind that usually kills people on motorcycles---"I did not see them --is their BS excuse for driving with their head up their A$$"

... and this is the reason why I stay far away from other drivers on the road. Always anticipate them to eff up and take you down with them... and yes I've driven 11 years without an accident... only accident was some idiot who hit my car while I was PARKED at my workplace.

Yep. You just have to assume everyone else on the road are complete idiots...  Now that i think about it, that goes for many things in life.
