So just did a fresh install and updated the bios for my 13900k build. I downloaded all the drivers from the EVGA website to install but I am having a few issues. Also, I did get windows fully up to date first before doing any of this.

Is there something wrong with the intel LAN driver? It was a huge file, 700meg and I can't seem to get it to install and been trying to figure out how to do that. I am on wireless right now but want to use the LAN here soon. There doesn't seem to be any "auto install" or exe to run that I can find.

Also, the RST driver doesn't work either. That one I think says my system isn't valid? I care less about this one but I like to install all the drivers that I can when I finish a build so just curious if this one has issues?

I tried looking at the intel site for the LAN driver but that site wasn't really letting me download anything.

Any thoughts?

I'm still using all original drivers that were on the provided USB drive that came in the box.

For over 25 years, other than video drivers; all the drivers i install, are done manually from within Device Manger.

^^ always results in the least bloat. and the most stable OS.

Plus i disable the Windows update option for Drivers. of course all security and patches i allow.

Search on Youtube "install drivers from with device manger" i get things like Link.

Yea this doesn't do anything on top of what I already had unfortunately. The driver that is installed for LAN that win11 downloaded doesn't seem to want to upgrade. It seems like the download from EVGA doesn't contain the right stuff, at least not for win11. Perhaps it buried in another folder but not sure which one. The driver installed on my machine is 1.1.3.28 and the EVGA site supposedly has 2.0.1.3.

I am sure the one windows put on is probably "fine" but just curious why the EVGA site download doesn't work. This is more of an annoyance at this point I think but I would still like to figure it out.

Anyone know how to use the EVGA site download? Or is it just broken?

you can try the Intel DSA. Usually it does a pretty good job detecting and installing the appropriate drivers. They also have a DSA uninstaller utility that properly uninstalls the DSA if you want to run it once and then not have it run with Windows anymore.

6Q6CPFHPBPCU691 is a discount code anyone can use.

    Try the following:

    A. Enable or Disable Include Drivers with Windows Updates in Windows 11

    B. Uninstall Driver in Windows 11 (From Device manager)

When you prevent Windows from updating drivers, on a PC that's for OCing and/or Gaming, there's a better chance at having a stable OS and getting all drivers properly installed.

Uninstalling a Driver first... especially when a current driver installed from Windows Update... and then installing a fresh driver... plus, remember to restart in between even if no message pops-up telling you to do so... is the correct protocol to implement.

And i didn't mention that many times the large .exe file(s) can simply be extracted. And then all the .inf files can be pointed to from withing Device Manger.

are you on a z690 classy? i had issues with the ethernet driver from evga, theres a thread where someone posted an updated ethernet driver that fixed my issue. rst divers only work if you install the drivers during os install and have bios set to vmd enabled. which are a waste of time if your not doing raid. evga for some reason hasnt been updating any drivers for the board, so i get them elsewhere and ive been rock solid, also win 10 and 11 is very good at using the correct driver if you dont uninstall the old one, thats a pretty old way of thinking.

also the intel driver auto check thingee will only update your bluetooth, it does nothing for chipset ethernet, or any other onboard, i think the last chipset was oct 2022, evga had jan of 2022. with the latest chipest update it runs alot smoother. every other mobo manufacturer posts the new drivers for z690. i wish i stuck with amd, at least you could download new drivers from amd .com. intel puts it up to the mobo manufacturer to release the update, and or is extremely hard to obtain the newest driver

Nope I am on the kingpin z690. I ended up just going with the drivers that win11 found which I think are current or current enough. The LAN seems to be working fine. Once I get my 2.5gb switch installed soon (have to redo my network cabinet) then I will see what speeds I am getting but I think all is well as of now.

Thanks all for suggestions. This is my first EVGA board in a LONG time and it's strange that they don't seem to update their drivers that much. If they hope to replace sales of no more video cards with other items I hope them improve things like this and I loved their video cards. I always did ASUS boards but after my z690 apex gave me all sorts of memory issues I said I am trying something else. The board overall seems great otherwise...just need to figure out why my 13900k seems to run so damn hot, I think it's just bios settings and it's throwing too much voltage at it but it's fine for gaming so eventually I will get to it.

    Thanks again all.
