yeah well its tricky going above 4ghz - but that was the max i could go on --- wish i could do more - they say if i turn of the cores then i might do more but it did not work out for me

Most of what you see on hwbot are just max OC & not for every day use or 24/7 clocks. Also you need to look at how many cores is in use on the screen shot. By dropping cores you can up the multiplier. So say if your running only 2 cores you can enable the 21 multiplier on a E5645. As I did here with only 2 cores 4 th enabled. Look at the CPUZ screen shots of others closely.

@ the wolf .. need some help brother . i want to do 4.4 / 4.5ghz i read on the forum that by lowering how many cores u are runing its possible . i also read that u stated that the QPI speed has to be lower n all . can u please describe what setings you used to get 4.4 / 4.5ghz . the exact voltages / mem setings and other options which require changes. i have like 40gb of ram 1600mhz cl9 gskill , pls do tell me what mem setings to use for this over clock . though i am able to boot in to the bios with 4 cores with a bclck of 220 even but when it goes to the os slightly after loading i get a blue screen and then all over again . i did try to apply slightly more volts even but still the same . can u pls tell me step by step as how to do it .

Some SR2 boards are lucky to reach 200, some do some don't. As said by others in my thread "I don't think I have ever seen 220 BCLK on a SR-2" its all hardware related some are just better than others. BTW it was a BCLK of 221Mhz not 220. 20x or 21x1 is a extra 20/21Mhz.

I am a noob to SR-2 overclocking and have done very little o/c in the past. Now I have the SR-2 with 2 x E5645 running and want to get a proper start and possibly even emulate the track of muhd86. But first I just want to make a modest start, and was looking at the shamino SR-2 OC Templates (). Problem is that the graphics there are linked to ImageHost.org and that site reports that it is "closed" so no graphics, just placeholders. Can somebody help me get the shamino settings for BaseClock 180 and 200 (6 graphics each) as well as the generic Memory timing setting and the 3 setting affect BaseClock Overclocking?

First thing I would do is lower the CPU vcore voltage to 1.25v on all settings in bios. Then up the BCLK until it becomes unstable, with any luck you will make it to 180/200 without any changes. If you have some good CPU chips there will not be much need for a lot of tweaking. Using the 18x multiplier & 200 BCLK that Will give you 3.6Ghz. Try to reach this 1st then you can move on from there. Wouldn't hurt to lower the memory speed for now so if there is a problem you will know it more to do with the CPU as the memory would be taken out of the equation.

Presuming that means starting with the factory default for all settings, just change the CPU vcore to 1.25v for all in bios then up the BClk. Thank you Wolf. Still would be good to see the shamino template images if they can be found. Think I saw some other posts with similar images gone missing due to the closed ImageHost.

Yes, factory default for all settings, just change the CPU vcore to 1.25v. As for shamino templates they where done at a early stage & probably with ES chips. He used what I thought was way over the amount of voltage across almost everything but then again a ES chip may have needed such voltage to run at the level of the released version now runs with much less vcore & other settings. Or at least the ones I have tested have. But still no since using that much to start with as the chip may not need that much to run such a OC. To me using 1.35v or more at start is like starting a new car motor out on premium gas later you can't go to regular gas because it will ping & sputter being use to more octane so now your stuck with running the high cost premium gas all the time. Only makes since to me to start out low & work your way up. My E5645 runs 19x200 BCLK at 1.247v. Actually even less than 1.247v in other motherboards. That said not all chips will, but its better to start out low than give way to much out the gate. Good luck finding your max OC.

My es l5639 needed 1.136Vcore for 205blk in my ud3r, but with the SR-2 I'm using 1.3375Vcore or something like that for 185blk. Though I'm not finished tweaking, so it may come down.

Yes I had found the same with x58 chip set boards the 5520 chip set seems to need more vcore to do the same bclk you can do on a x58 with ease. I can do 19x221 in a x58 with 1.225v & even less on one of my E5620 CPU. So the chip set does play a big part & having single vs dual QPI link in use also does.

I am having very poor luck with the o/c. Starting with factory default (A56 BIOS), raised all the Vcore to 1.25V. Only changed the BIOS to AHCI, S3 and HPET. Noted that CPU0 temp is 40C but CPU1 temp 77C. Have seen this before, carefully cleaned and reseated the waterblock with Arctic Silver 5, all fan connections check out fine. Boots A-OK into Win7 SP-1, all updated. E-leet 1.10. E-leet temps show nothing much high (PWM for CPU0 @ 45C, CPU1 44C, socket 40C). Dialed up the E-leet BCLK to 140, OK. 150 OK. 160 system freezes (all at default 18X, memory all auto per default setting). Did this multiple times w/CMOS resets, tried to set memory to 9-9-9-24 per Geil label, all Vcore at default, all Vcore 1.35. Had 12 stick of memory most of the time but also tried with only 3 sticks (red slots 1,3,5). No joy, totally frustrated at the moment and hoping for some suggestions. I'd set your ram to 2:8 and strap it to 1333. Don't forget,. your vtt also needs to be raised to about 1.35 too. Do you have both 8 pins in?
