which is going to be the best psu i could get for my 3090 kinpin and 5950x i most likely going to have it on oc mode and running it for days at 100% use (doing simlations and stuff like that)

I use an Asus Thor 1200W (3090 KPE + 10900K 5.3GHz) in gaming I see around 650W total and in benchmarks close to 800W.

3090 kingpin draws around 480w while 5950x draws around 200w if you oc it. Plus other system components, I would say the whole system sustain power is around 750W Since most power supply at best efficiency at half load. I would suggest a 1300W or 1600W power supply. Since you are going to run 24/7, I would suggest a Titanium power supply. I think EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2, 80+ TITANIUM 1600W would be a good choice.

Get something with high efficiency (Titanium or Platinum) that's in the 1000W+ range and you should be gravy. Make sure it's quality unit.
If the eVGA P2 1200W was in stock anywhere I'd highly recommend it, I've had more for a few years now & it's powered all kinds of setups ranging from SLi Titan Xp's to a soon to be Kingpin setup.
I think going with a 1600W would be some expensive overkill, but you would be right in the half-load sweet spot most PSUs have in their efficiency curve. But if you get a Titanium or Platinum unit, it should be very efficient at any load ranging from 50-100%.

I would personally not get an EVGA or Corsair PSU I would go for a 1000w or Higher titanium from enermax, cooler master, or seasonic. I have had issues with my 1000w evga p2 psu and I have 2 of them in 2 different systems. I have also had some questionable issues with Corsair. I have a new enermax platinum 1050 and it has had no issues with 1.43bios vcore 10900k and 3090 ftw3.
Alot of people here will say EVGA PSU but I wouldn't buy another one.

Hey guys, also going to have a K|NGP|N and a 5950x in the near future. If the estimated wattage is like 800W, can someone explain to me why you all are recommending 1300+ W? Is it because 800W is the bare minimum and the system almost always draws more than that while in use? I understand the headroom to OC parts but, a 500W headroom seems like a ton.

Why do we even care about efficiency though? It doesn’t make sense to me unless you have a loud PSU. I have a BeQuiet Dark Power Pro 11 850W PSU and I won’t hesitate to shove an overclocked 3080 in there with my 5600X because the thing is still quiet under load. It’s an 80+ Platinum PSU though so the difference between 100% and 50% is no more than 2-3%. BeQuiet’s calculator has a 5600X and 3080, both overclocked +25%, at 82% of an 850W PSU and doesn’t even try to push their 1000W+ models.

50% load = max efficiency = silent = life of psu
A decent titanium or platinum 1300w would be my choice.
When your running a system with 5950 and 3090 (or any high end hw, especially f you plan on tinkering with OC'ing) there is no such thing as "overkill" with a psu....

1000W would work but as others have noted, 1200w and up is your best bet for efficiency and product life.
I got the Super Flower Leadex SE 1200w - they made the superb EVGA power supplies that are no longer available and this is basically an updated version of that.

Running that setup OC'd for days at a time, I'd definitely invest in PSU reliability as much as sheer wattage. 1200w is probably a bit overkill actually, but on the other hand you can be sure it'll get the job done. My apologies to your electricity bill

Outervision's PSU calculator is a good resource for determining the requirements of your particular setup. Putting together a sample config through there myself (assuming 1.35v Vcore, and an 8% GPU overvolt) puts you close to 900W as a recommendation. Especially if you're running a bunch of other devices, such as a water pump, a 1kW PSU may be the best way to go. But again, use the aforementioned calculator to determine your particular needs.
