(rumor) https://www.overclock3d.net/news/gpu_displays/nvidia_rtx_4090_ti_renders_leak_-_a_3_5-slot_monster/1

New renders from Nvidia's upcoming RTX 4090 Ti graphics card have been made available online via Moore's Law is Dead, a technology YouTuber and frequent hardware leaker. The leaked RTX 4090 Ti heatsink is consistent with previous RT 40 series heatsink leaks (more information here), showcasing a design that features more heatsink fins than Nvidia's RTX 30 series graphics cards, a thick 3.5-slot design, and an overall design aesthetic that is similar to Nvidia's existing RTX 30 series Founders Edition graphics cards.

Moore's Law is Dead also stated that Nvidia plans to launch large volumes of RTX 40 series graphics cards this Fall, and Nvidia's AIB partners are already said to be preparing 4-slot and 4.5-slot RTX 40 series GPU heatsinks. This makes sense given the RTX 40 series' rumoured power requirements on the high-end, and the success of large format GPU heatsink designs, as seen with the RTX 3080 Noctua Edition (review here).

Today, we are seeing PSU manufactures, case makers, and other hardware vendors changing the designs of their products in anticipation of higher wattage GPU designs. Most new cases have a high airflow model, and many high-end cases are now shipping with GPU support brackets for use with heavy GPUs. Power supply manufacturers are releasing more high wattage PSUs, and are quickly adopting the 600W PCIe 16-pin power connector. On top of that, high-end motherboards are starting to feature GPU quick release systems, as large heatsinks are making PCIe 16x slot latches harder to access.

Nvidia's high-end RTX 40 series graphics cards are expected to be larger and more power hungry than their predecessors, and that will make case airflow and thermal management more important than ever before. Low airflow cases will show their cooling weakness with modern graphics cards, and that will result in many PC gamers looking for case upgrades in the near-term future.

I have a bad feeling that the next gen NVIDIA GPUs will be bigger. This info is rumor for now.

First the ridiculous Watt drawl now a 3.5 slot card.  Nvidia is becoming more and more intolerable and annoying.  I'm probably wrong for looking at the CEO because of this but wth.

OMG... what is that?   that's a monster!!!  2022 and i feel we are going backwards in time and tech optimization!!
jeeeezzzzz!!  3.5 slots? and they expect bigger? up to 4.5 slots?

hell... with all the money spent on that ( developer) card better go with a double or triple 120mm fan radiator AIO WC LOOP!!  definitely!!

anyone knows the weight??? in kg?
no way i would try that on vertical case mounting... not even with support bracket!!

Nvidia is making huge heavy gfx bricks!!!

may be 5000gen will be ...better optimized???  right??

NVidia: “have you heard that EVGA released motherboards with 4 slot spacing rather than 3, so they can use NVLink bridges for SLI and benchmarking even after we disabled discreet SLI profiles in our drivers?”

Engineers: “yeah, we also thought SLI was dead, because we forgot it existed…”

NVidia: “How do we stop the peasants from using two cards how they want to use them?”

    Engineers: “bigger?”

    NVidia: “what does that mean?”

Engineers: “make the coolers bigger… that’s what the AIB’s did for the 3000 series, why can’t we?”

NVidia: “will it be better cooled? Will the peasants be able to fit them on the motherboard?”

Engineers: “better cooled? Oh yeah, we will even reuse the exact same cooler as last gen, but it’ll be bigger. Will they fit on the motherboard, not if they have a 3 slot consumer style motherboard they won’t.”

NVidia: “done, meeting adjourned, next week we will discuss their wallets and how we are just going to take the whole thing instead of just their credit cards.”

It will be interesting if that is the final from NVIDIA but keep in mind only NVIDIA used that pass through cooler.

Makes me glad I've gone water cooling and now got 840mm of radiators to try and cool that monster.

Wait, I thought the 4090 was coming out first and no ti models yet. Or are they already leaking the 40 series refresh?
