order problems

So I ordered the gtx 970 and got a call today asking me to verify my order, after I did all that they said my order is aproved and will be shipped later today (that was around 10:00 this morning) I just went to go check to see if it has been sent (its now 9:00) and the page said that my order was still pending and that it had not been shipped.
is this normal?
has it been shipped and the site not updated or does it usually take a couple days be sent.
this would be okay if they hadnt said it would be shipped TODAY
 
I hope you can help and if you know the problem please reply.
