I installed the Hybrid Kit and I'm hitting 30 on idle. I reused the cross-brace with the stock gpu screws. I also used Artic MX4 instead of the pre-applied thermal paste on the block. I swapped out the fans for Noctua chromax and offloaded them onto the MOBO instead. Cleaning off the old thermals was a pain, but got it done with 90% Iso Alc with a microfiber towel and brush. Compress air to dry it all up.

Yes I even see guys with the EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid factory and they have very high temps. So you think that using the stock cross plate tightens it better? About the thermal compound yes I can imagine it will be a pain, and I agree to replace the stock thermal compound that comes witht the AIO.

Thank You, Happy New Year!!!

I have a 3090 FTW3 Ultra Hybrid and I was hitting 60-65c during heavy gaming. So I opened the card up and replaced the stock paste with Thermal Grizzly Kyronaut and now I’m getting 45-52c most of the time. Cyberpunk is the only game so far where I start hitting the high 50’s. I also ended up using the EVGA radiator fans that came with it as they perform extremely well. Originally had replaced them with Corsair ML120’s but they weren’t cutting it for me.

Glad to hear that works fine for you, ask you can see mostly all are reporting 70C on some parts, a thing that my Stock Air Card reaches with fans at 77% gaming only if i Increase Scale of the game (some games allow this others not) in my case I reported this some posts back with Homefront The Revolution, using 1.25x with ALL Ultra and 3440x1440. Did you put the TGK on both the base of the cooler and the die or only on the die?

Cheers, Sergio!

There definitely does seem to be some inconsistency with the temperatures that people are reporting. The stock thermal paste on my card was pretty dire and uneven, so I think that was the major issue.

I only put paste on the GPU die in an “x” pattern. I’m reasonably sure it should be good enough. I would check and repast but I don’t want to risk the thermal pads disintegrating on me if I take the card apart again.

For the backplate side, yes- I reused the original thermal pads/putty as-is, no cleaning or anything, just simply put it back the way it was. It was a bit cracked up from removal and I fully expect that it's not performing 100% as a result but it's still running "middle of the pack" temperatures anyways, so probably <90% at least. That said, I plan on replacing it soon.

Everything else had new pads supplied, which I used. I'm meticulous about cleaning everything down to be spotless, using 99.99% electronics grade alcohol, lint-free 'Kim Wipes' and lots of patience.

Overall, I'm super happy with the GPU cooling, as always with EVGA.

From what I’ve been told you want to completely cover the gpu die since there is no ihs.

With the standard core voltage setting of 0, my FTW3 always runs into the voltage limit (VREL - Afterburner). if I change the value to +100%, the card runs into the power limit, as expected.

Can I always run the GPU with the coreVoltage setting of +100?

Yes.

Hi Guys,
This post peaked my interest so I decided to post a (hopefully not dumb) question.
Is the 500w XOC Beta BIOS not working for everyone? I have an RTX 3090 FTW3 and an RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra and I applied the beta firmware to both cards. In AB I can get an average 2100MHz (+145) on some games with the highest spike of around 450W for the FTW3 and for the FTW3 Ultra I average 2055MHz (+115) and spikes around 440W. I have voltage and power limits maxed on both and any offset higher than above will crash some games. Since AB shows that I never reach close to 500w usage should I be concerned that I am not getting the full potential of these cards? Sorry if this was a stupid question. By the way it is upsetting that my FTW3 performs better that my Ultra, but I understand the silicon will never be the same.

As someone who has kinda-sorta-maybe been following this thread, how does this look using the beta BIOS for my 3090 FTW Ultra Gaming?  This was taken after running the Timespy Stress Test (20 continual loops) and setting Afterburner to 100% Voltage and 119% Power.  No overclocks.  I can't post pictures, so I'll have to type them in from GPU-Z Senor's tab with every sensor set to Max:

Board Power Draw:  468.8W
PCIe Slot Power:  81.2W
PCIe Slot Voltage:  12.0V
8-Pin #1 Power:  118.0W
8-Pin #1 Voltage:  12.1V
8-Pin #2 Power:  134.3W
8-Pin #2 Voltage:  12.1V
8-Pin #3 Power:  135.3W
8-Pin #3 Voltage:  12.1V
Power Consumption (%):  109.7 TDP

I'm using a Corsair AX1600i  PSU with 3 separate PCIE cables (Corsair's - not any aftermarket).

Absolut same on my side and for almost everyone. It could! be the pcie Max 75w. Hart to explain but look at this.

I don‘t like him so much but yeah he has the same problem. Sound like an issue with pcb itself.

For me is this no solution because of warranty!
Also flashing the xc3 oder kingpin bios is out of warranty. So I will stay at 450 :/ and hope for am Bios Update. For me it would be Okay to have an oc Bios with more then 75watt on pci3 because I have a very good board.

You have a KP ?

Historically they are so different physically ... I'd think we have been told they will not work on "normal" cards

CK these threads
