Finally, my kp is back, better than before, but still can't satisfy me. So I bulid a custom waterloop (waterblock by Bykski)......
Unfortunately,I find that the power consumption will display 800w inexplicably in EVGA PX1(0 load).

So when you got your card back was everything OK before you put on the waterblock or did you not try it first? Did they send your card back or replace it? Did you try one of the other bios positions to see if it does the same thing, do you have the latest firmware E200-FA42 ?     For Firmware open PX1, click little circle next to version, when window opens click update, when window opens with firmware files click E200-FA42.

Yeah I have test my card before I put on the waterblock. I thought it was just a display bug at that time,so I didnot care too much. E200-FA42 solved the problem, thx.
last problem......the temp of memory 1 (close to IO panel)10℃ above memory 3,I guess It could be an installation problem of waterbolck,I will check it later. Unfortunately, there is no way to buy the official waterblock, Bykski's waterblock is much uglier than the official.......

In PX1 Memory 1 is always the hottest, memory 2 is always the mid temp, and mem 3 is always the coolest. Mine is always a difference of 8-12C between mem1 and mem3 in PX1. Your temps are relatively normal i would say compared to others as far as memory temp differences.

Yes just ignore that mem1 temp. It's always way higher then the rest.. and who knows where that temp reading really is located.

Hold on!! My Kingpin started doing the same! The OLED is showing 813-820W board power all the time! It started couple of days ago, all of sudden.
What is going on? I don't have X1 installed, only Afterburner.

Bykski came out with a WB? How is it(GPU temps etc.)? If my evga WB doesn't work out I might order it and give it a go myself lol.

this is not coil whine. This is the pump noise of the Astek Gen 6 pumps. Just type  "2080ti Pump Noise" and you will find countless threads about this topic, dont bother tilting anything, its not air bubbles or coil whine either. I had the same noise, and many people did. The 2080ti FTW3 shares the same generation pump and this is the normal noise they make. Im surprised EVGA didnt fix the issue with the 1900 USD kingpin. Your only solution is to do the the motherboard connection, or live with it. I returned my card and got an aircooled version cause the noise was so unbearable.

I thought the 2080 Ti Kingpin was the first to come out with the Gen 6 pumps, i didn't think any other 2080 Ti had the Gen 6 pump. I could be wrong though.

I think all the AIO pumps are the same on all cards folks.  Don't matter Kingpin or not afaik.

Re: kingpin pump noise 2019/12/05 13:26:15 (permalink)
I have an AIO with gen 5 pump, gen 6 and KP with gen 6. All of them make some kind of noise at 100% speed. Gen6 360 AIO needs to be at 75% max to have 0 noise, gen5 90% and KP (no idea, didn't do the mod) but its the quietest at 100%, not audible with closed case. I had FTW3 with hybrid kit and that one needed 70% pump speed to be quiet otherwise it was audible through a closed case. gen 5 seem to be quieter than gen 6, my first gen 5 was quiet even at 100% but sadly didn't survive for long. Hopefully if I manage to get my KP to work properly on water, I will move to full 3 rad custom loop.

And yeah, all hybrids from EVGA have gen 6 pumps, had that confirmed with a ticket when I wanted to RMA that hybrid kit. (Ofc I mean 20 series)

I've had 2x 1080 ftw3 hybrids.. could not hear the pumps. Also could not hear the pumps on a 1080ti ftw3 hybrid nor the 2080ti kingpin.

The original poster never uploaded a video of the noise they experienced. So one cant say forsure what it was he was hearing.

I had a 980ti hybrid, and it didnt have that sound too. Based on that i bought the 2080ti ftw hybrid. Only the 20 series and above use the new gen pumps. OP didnt need to upload a video, this is the most common problem everyone who owns a new hybrid is complaining about, he even described it as "sounds like a fridge", which is what everyone sais....lol

Im sure if OP looks at the videos i linked hes going to say its the same noise.

Also there are  who posted who have the KP with the same issues. If your KP doesnt then 1) Your hearing level is different / or might have a harder closed case 2) You are one of the rare few who have gotten lucky.

Kinda doubt rare to hear of a quiet pump when it's rare to hear someone complain about the pump on a kingpin.

This is the first for me. Heard of plenty 2080ti hybrid pumps being loud though.

If it's the same pump as the others.. maybe the larger 240mm rad keeps the temps down so the pump dont need to kick into high gear to hear it as would happen with the smaller regular 120mm rad found on the other 2080ti hybrids.

I have seen very little complaints about the 2080ti Kingpins making much pump noise but i'm sure there's going to be an issue with a few just like everything else can't be 100% satisfaction rate.

I think the reason for this was ppl who bought the 2080ti ftw3 hybrid were expecting a quiet pump like the previous gens, plus EVGA advertised the card as quiet, so it was kinda of a shock when the pump was as loud as it is, hence the many many complaints. On the other hand, the enthusiasts who bought the KP, knew about the risk that the pump might be noisy, but they r were probably willing to put up with it for that performance boost. Ive seen a few people with KP's that complained about the pump noise on these threads.

New KP owner here in a build; upgraded from a Vega AIO. Tower is on the desk 2 feet from me and it sounds like a fridge. I ruled everything else out so I guess it's the KP. Is there a water pump curve somewhere I can modify?

Nope. Because pump can't be controlled via PWM. And evga uses same (single) fan header for both pump and rad fans.
You can connect your pump and rad fans to your motherboard and control it with bios/motherboard software. To do so you need a connector from 4pin mini gpu fan to 4pin pwm fan.

Thanks for the quick reply :) Too bad it's not the same as this connector that I already have (below). With that connector maybe I'll be able to connect it to my corsair icue. Do we know if xingzhong's issue was fixed by RMA? I bought this card despite not planning any exotic cooling because I thought it is the best out-of-the-box 2080ti but if I have to go the custom cooling route anyway doesn't it make sense to return and buy another 2080ti at 2/3 the price?

I still haven't heard back from EVGA to the email I wrote about my fan click/clack on start/stop, but that's another issue that is annoying from a new card but seems fixable.
