Hi all!
Is this me or happened with others too?
Ever discussing about something say for example to buy a new chair or gonna visit a place with your friend and you have never searched about it on google and facebook for recommendations, but suddenly after a day you start seeing ads of the chair dealers and travel agents near you.
Is this someone listening me?
Is it my phone listening me?
No matter whoever is listening, but it can lead to serious privacy concerns in future.
This time our voice is being used for ads re-targeting but may be in future something terrible could happened.
Sometimes it is too annoying to see ads of the things that you dont want to see in public.
Is there any way to stop this?
And what is the future of this technology?

You have chosen for this to happen simply by using google and social media. Somewhere along the way you agreed to their terms of service.

Yes, Google & Facebook & Amazon are among the biggest culprits doing this .......

I have heard many people say that it has happened to them.

I haven't had it happen to me, but I don't use Facebook or Facebook Messenger either. I also don't have a voice assistant such as Alexa. And I don't have "Ok Google" voice search enabled on my phone. Also, I have unique ads disabled wherever possible (Google, Microsoft, etc.). Every time I sign up for any new account or service, I make sure to go through their privacy policy and privacy settings and opt-out of everything possible.

For example:

^Don't worry, that is not my actual advertising ID.

They are probably still listening to me, but at least I have opted out wherever possible so that less of that information is being shared with 3rd parties, and I have opted out wherever possible so that they aren't using that information to give me targetted advertising.

One of those services or features is easily the source of your observation.

Also, bank and credit card companies periodically mail account policy updates. Included is usually information about how they share your information with 3rd parties. They usually include a 800 number you to call in order to opt-out. I do that too.

Bezos is watching!.    if you do any searches, it gets logged by google.  I try to avoid google products or us a VPN.

I have disabled access to my microphone on all of my accounts for social media, and it still happens occasionally, so they are ignoring permissions that are expressly turned off.

OK FYI: I have already placed restriction and proper security checks, and have already turned off the google voice and enabled other security protocols.
So I think this is not the case, there should be another way around to stop this, or we should stop using these devices and turn to stone age.

As mentioned earlier, I have already disabled that too.
Well Never mind, this is what I think is unapproachable and we have to now live with it

No, not listening if your settings are correct ... they are watching

Clean your browser Cache & history often.... CCleaner - free version works well

Check your security settings in your OS & browser(s) - possible need to use more restrictive security settings

Any time you log into any account with an App like Facebook or Google ... they get all the data - just like your ISP
