Im personally going for an intel core i7 9700k which is good for gaming on a budget. amd usually makes better cards however, but (at least for their most recent cpus) doesn't support intergrated graphics, so unless you already have a gpu on hand to use, i'd recommend going intel as gpus are high in demand rn. definitely do your research before buying though as it's dependent on your budget and what kind of gaming you're looking to accomplish.

AMD 3600X can be found on sale occasionally for about $200. I do prefer the 5600X though, which is $300.

For Budget Gaming I would prefer the AMD Processors because of their good IGPU's for gaming. But If you want to play with an grafics-card You have the dessision what you want to use. My system is based on a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and I'm satisfied with it ;) But I need a newer Grafics card asap

For budget, hands down intel takes the crown with their i5 11th generation CPU, its just one of the best price to performance chips you can buy on the market today, though if you are looking for better performance overall, you'll probably want to go with AMD, something like their AMD Ryzen 3 3300X (which you can't find in stock) or their AMD Ryzen 5 3600 should do the trick. If you want ultimate gaming performance then maybe the Intel core I9 10th generation would suite you or for overall performance, the AMD Ryzen 9 5900x.

I’d recommend deciding what the bottleneck is first. If you’re not a graphics heavy user (anything over 1080p or rendering 3D models) and don’t want to go through a quest of buying a graphics card, go with Intel because their integrated graphics is better. If you have a graphics card or are a heavy graphics user, AMD with a graphics card, but you need to go on a quest for a graphics card. AMD does have integrated graphics Cpu, but I’m not a fan due to less support.

I'd personally go for AMD, but do some research depending on what the rest of your build will be, and what you will need to run with your pc

If you mainly use your PC for gaming, then I would go for the Ryzen 5600x. In my opinion it has the best value between performance and price. You can actually get it for around 270€.

You have to define "tight budget." Normal convention says buy AMD, but if you're willing to spend $300, I'd rather get a 10850k from Microcenter over a 5600x for the same price. You'll pay slightly more for an Intel mobo than an AMD one, but the difference between a 10850k and a 5600x is worth it IMO

for budget gaming, i recommend buying used items on ebay. people often talk about how potentially horrible the items are on ebay but you get 30 day money back guaranteed. when you receive an item, just do a 24-72 hour stress test on the item and if it passes, then the item is probably in good condition. if the item randomly breaks 31 days after the ebay policy, that would just be super unlucky.

Same Price? The 10850 is 120€ pricier than the 5600x.

Either one is fine, just look into CPUs at the price you want and see which one performs best and has the features you want.

Whichever one you go for, itll do what it is you want done, especially if you are on a budget. Intel, AMD... they both have amazing cpu's, if i were to pick one itd be intel, esp. for the budget reason.

for 1080p60hz gaming, try to find a cheap modern day quad core. for anything higher than that, get a 3600 or a modern intel 6 core

I own 2600x and I bought this for under $200 new 2 years ago, and I dont have any problems playing games in 1080p, photoshop and 4k video converting. Definitely takes a while for the decoding, but I don't convert any more than 1 video file per day so it's still good. The most important question is what are you using it for/will it work for your work flow/how bad do you want to pay for that seconds to minutes each day.

In the current environment if you don't already have a GPU I'd really look at AMDs APUs. Something like the 4650G if you can get it. It's basically a Ryzen 5 3600x but with a internal GPU. Will let you play games at low/medium settings while you wait to get a GPU at a decent price.

In my opinion AMD has overtaken Intel and is the best option but there is more stock for Intel rn so that might be an important factor for you.
