I have overclocked my i5 8600k to 4.8 ghz with 1.254 volts.

Is that pretty good?  hahahha I'm not much of an overclocker, but this seems to work pretty well.

If anyone else is attempting to overclock this bad boy lets talk about what we are enabling, disabling, etc...

The way my PC is overclocked, it is constantly running at 4.8 ghz @ 1.254 volts.  Should I only enable this when gaming?  Will having this high of voltage on the cpu 24/7 harm this quickly?

Intel sells overclock insurance/warranty.   If you are worried about burning up your chip it may be worth looking into.  They are very reasonable.

Oh, here is a link I found it.
Basically you pay for the plan, then when you burn up your chip they send you a new one ONCE.  I can't remember if they charge you a service fee or not...  But its a pretty good deal when you are just learning.

1.254v is a pretty tame overclock. if you are going for a fixed voltage overclock like you have set. I would make sure you disable all c states so they don't have any possibility to cause issues

I just saw this video from der8auer on youtube.
Might worth to check it, since it might apply to the 8600K as well.
