please help new EVGA 3090 arrived - but can't use it.

I got a  little discount because it was RETURNED to Amazon.   Likely same reason didnt fit. 
So I get a OMEN 30L a year ago and best card I can get is 3070.
FINALLY the 3090 appeared at near list price. I ORDERED IT.

It came - I pulled the 3070 and 3090 won't fit.  It's about 2/8th to long. There is a PRETTY END CAP ON IT (But can't be removed with a saw). 
So I could cut my HD cage out (and would) if I knew the card would fit and work?

The card has 3 x 8 pin sockets.  MY 3070 had 2 x 8 plugs.  I need 3?   Is there a "Y" cable I can split one to make2 to get 3? 


Or just send the card back to amazon for a "NO SALE FOR EVGA YET AGAIN?"
How do I get a 3090 into my machine?  1 year old top of the line HP. (really disappointing).

    you probably need an upgraded PSU also to feed a 3090.

    Yes you Need 3 & it is better if they are separate cables
