Hi guys, I fave EVGA supernova G5, I try connect 1 cable that has eps connector (cpu) to 2x 6 + 2 gpu connector. The problem is that I connected this cable to the CPU 2 output,  I tested the voltages and everything is fine, but when I turn on the pc, the system does not start, the power does not pass, the psu indicator is on but it does not start the system, When I disconnect it, if it starts, then I wanted to know what is happening, since the cable is used to feed a gpu that comes out from the cpu2 connector of the psu.

An EPS connector is different to a PCIe connector. I believe an 8-pin EPS has an extra 12v rail on one of the pins and the PCIe cable has a ground pin in place where the 12v of the EPS is. Besides I'm pretty sure the EPS connector is keyed differently so how did you even managed to fit it in? What's the model number of your PSU?

Thanks for you answer, the psu is the supernova 1000 G5. Attach the image of the connector that goes to the psu. I tested the cable, and the 12v goes to for the yellows cable and they go where they should go to the gpu.

Is your GPU on a PCIe riser (1x) by any chance? That cable doesn't even look like an EVGA cable unless it's super old. And what GPU are you trying to power?

Yes, the card is in a riser, the cable is a teamprofitcom cable (amazon), it is a cable that has an eps type connector and goes to vga

Not sure but sounds like you using your card to mine? If that's the case, your riser probably needs power to it. Can you include a photo of what your GPU (riser setup) looks like right now?

Yes, I attach how I have it connected, like all the others, the only thing different is that the connector from which the cable comes out from the psu, is not the vga connector indicated on the psu it comes out from the CPU2 connector, which I tested the voltages and go out where they should go to the GPU, but the source does nothing when having connected through that place.

Asus dual 3070, but there is something that happens that when connecting this in the cpu2, the psu evga does not let the system start.

Have you tried a different port on your PSU to see if it works like CPU1 for example?

I already discovered the reason, it is the polarity, you just have to reverse it and it works perfect. I leave the answer in case someone else has the doubt in the future.

Yeah, the component-end pinout polarity is opposite and I was gonna mention that earlier, but you said "I tested the cable, and the 12v goes to for the yellows cable and they go where they should go to the gpu" so I thought you had it right.
