Attempting to give hope to those of you fearful of an expensive SNB dual-socket setup:
FWIW, best I can tell based on a combination of CPU specs and rumored prices, the E5-2600's doesn't entirely succeed the Xeon 5600's, at least not all of them. It looks like the higher end of the 5600's are being replaced by E5-2600 (
thus higher average prices), but the lower-end is being replaced by E5-2400 (
thus lower average prices) using LGA1356 and it appears later in the year.
LGA1356 parts still have up to 8-cores up to 2.4GHz; except you get triple-channel DDR3, 24 lanes of PCIe 3.0 each and
no overclocking; unless EVGA makes a junior SR-X or SR-L for light. Even if a vendor did make an overclockable version that barely reaches the speeds of stock E5-2600's, at least it is a cheaper route than going for the E5-2600's.
You just have to wait another 6-8 months for it.

my question is has anyone found any kinds of specks on it as of yet???
It has been brought up in the seven pages of this thread, not like you're the only one asking, just start digging-- or look
here or
here.
The board will debut officially
around when the CPU's debut, which will be next month. Intel has been pretty consistent, their Xeon 5600, 5500 and 5400 have all debuted the month of March.
